Do you guys thin the createx in the bottles or do you thin as you go? I notice some spray w/o thinning but I prefer to cut the paint. I haven't tried a medium yet just water. I read the createx medium keep the paint wetter longer and helps drying in the tip. Especially between plugs.

I have always used this. The only worry I have with using straight water is the possibility of reduced adhesion. This stuff has always done good for me.Liquitex - Products: Mediums: Airbrush Medium (http://www.liquitex.com/Products/fluidmedairbrush.cfm)

Capesams posted something on the other site about this. I hope he doesn't mind that I took the liberty of translating it.

Liquitex is made to fill in the pores of a rough canvas, and make paints flow easier over a rough surface, plus it helps thin paint.

But it's too thick to use alone, so water is added to thin it out, but water beads up if sprayed on anything, so by adding a few drops of Windex it makes the whole mix spread out evenly.

If you want to put scales on your plug, but find sometimes your netting screws up your paint, just spray a coat of thinned Liquitex over your paint, let dry and then go for your scaling.

You can also add powered pearl colors to Liquitex. Then put your clear coat over that after the colored Liquitex is dry. This will add a colored hue to your plug. Which ever way you turn the plug it'll have that colored shimmer to it.

Where do you guys get the stuff? I'm almost out and the place I used to get it doesn't carry it anymore.

liquidtex "airbrush" medium is just reg. liquitex medium thinned out,so if you see just medium on the label, don't be afraid to pick it up and water it down for your airbrush.

Is the "textile medium" by Delta the same. The bottle reads for flowing and adhesion to fabrics. I found a bottle in my wife's craft bin. If so, I think I will confiscate it!
