Since I'm never satisfied with my plugs I decided I needed to tinker with my canal specials some more :smash:. All my previous models have been made from AYC, so I tried making some with different woods - Eastern White Pine and Basswood to see the effects. First pic is what most of the previous ones I've built look like or are on there way to becoming (Remind me why I'm messing with it :wall:). Next a group shot of the three for testing and finally a picture of how I marked the wood types.

look great .. I do the same thing with pencils ..Make a standard ,,but then a sinker ,, a real floaty walker,, then different sizes/profiles .. Its just fun .

I experiment, too, but always forget to mark them then can't remember what I did. :1poke:

I'm going to use one of those metal punch sets of #s and letters to stamp: type of wood, length, weight, sink/float, attitude in water.

Ex. For an AYC floating needle that is 8" long, weighs 2.75oz. and sits at a 45 at rest.

F-AYC-8x2.75-45

It's the better mouse trap syndrome. Those all look nice, and I'm sure they'll all be chewed up by the end of june...
