So, we just elected a republican senator to replace an icon of liberal leadership in a solid Blue state. Although MA is classified as a blue state, independents are the MAJORITY. Independants also decided the presidential election.
I watched the post election forums last night and all I heard from VOTERS was
- stop the health bill
- stop spending money and increasing deficit
- open dialog, debate and transparency
- fed up with Washington

and what have I heard as the Democratic response???
- Martha Coakley led an awful campaign

IMHO, the Dems have a HUGE opportunity here and I bet they blow it. If Obama is such a great leader, nows the time to lead. Polls show most are against the HC bill and given the points I made above, I think he should do the following
- Go on tv and say to the American people - we need to slow down on the bill, the people have spoken and I am going to listen
- begin negotiations using the house and sentate bills - MANDATE - no earmarks, no special state provisions
- use a phased approach, put in the highest priority components of the bill

That would be leadership, that would be change, that would be a "new" washington.
So, what do you think he'll do.........? What do you think the Dems that are up for mid-term election in November will do?

morons

Democrats point fingers after stunning loss - CNN.com (http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/01/20/coakley.brown/index.html?hpt=T1)

A top adviser to President Obama rejected assertions that Tuesday's vote was a referendum on the president or Democratic policies and instead took a shot at Coakley: "Campaigns and candidates matter."

The whole Democratic crowd hid like rats in the shadows through out her campaign. They only showed their pointy little noses when they were forced to the gunnels of "the sinking ship".Now they're swimming fast. These people showed their true colors to me as this progressed from the primary elections.they did'nt WANT her to win. They wanted Capuano. The sharks are circling for the rest of you.:uhuh:

Obama might want to consider simply resigning over this, there is no reasonable alternative.

Reid has demonstrated that the Dems realized that their out-of-control train has been derailed. I appreciate his pledge not to hold up Brown's confirmation and not to rush the HC vote.

Other Dems seem to recognize that the current HC proposal is not acceptable and needs to be redrafted.

another Dem gem...
Some 500 miles to the north, New Hampshire Democratic Party Chairman Ray Buckley sent out an urgent plea for donations to help fund a special election next month for a state senate seat he fears losing.

"Over the past few weeks, radical right-wing activists turned Massachusetts into ground zero for the Tea Party movement, and we saw a taste of what's to come in 2010," Buckley wrote.

ah yes - those crazy right wingers, those wacky tea partiers, thats right fellow MA residents,,,,,,he means YOU. Kiss your job good bye buddy, cause NH is not going to stand for that kind of crap. It might be a news flash to Dems but some voters actually think.

obama - "Here's my assessment of not just the vote in Massachusetts, but the mood around the country: the same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office," Obama said. "People are angry and they are frustrated. Not just because of what's happened in the last year or two years, but what's happened over the last eight years."

Dear Mr President, how dumb are you? Brown ran a simple campaign and very few points -
1 - HC Bill is not a good one
2 - terrorists should not have rights of citizens
3 - we need to lower taxes

the exact opposite of what Obama ran on......morons

Obama is in a tight spot, because he CANT change his agenda even if he wanted to... Special interest, extreme left groups contributed, rallied, and committed voter fraud (acorn) to get him elected... and they all expect to be repayed by having THEIR agenda well taken care of for decades to come, with new socialist legislation... Obama is such an elitist snob that is completely out of tune with the heart of america. Who did he think his comments were resonating with by making fun of someone for owning a truck??? Someone needs to tell him that independents didnt vote for HIM... they voted for something other than Bush... His best speech writer cant even help this clown now... Once you see a magicians strings, you'll never again believe in the magic...
