Boston Sports Media Watch Pete Sheppard Out At WEEI (http://www.bostonsportsmedia.com/2010/01/pete-sheppard-out-at-weei)
fishsmith 01-20-2010, 07:06 PM Now he'll have to put his money where his mouth is with the "Lock of the week"
I like Pete, hopefully he'll land over at 98.5
afterhours 01-20-2010, 07:33 PM could'nt stand pete at first, but he kind of grew on me. wonder what the real reason is for his departure............maybe he'll surface on 98.5 and fill us in.
Raider Ronnie 01-20-2010, 09:22 PM No loss, one less guy on the show yelling over each other
MarshCappa 01-20-2010, 10:06 PM I hate to see anyone loose their job especially when they performed well. I had my moments that Pete annoyed me but overall I thought he was really good and funny. I hope he lands something fast.
Rob Rockcrawler 01-21-2010, 04:21 AM That sucks. I like Pete just as much as the Big O, and with all the vacation the O gets Pete had his own show for 3 months out of the year. I have listened to the sports hub yet, but i will if Pete heads over there. Im sure he will, and will get paid handsomely for it.
stcroixman 01-21-2010, 08:05 AM I like Pete. He probably priced himself out. He deserves his own show anyway. 98.5 would be a good landing spot.
Pete_G 01-21-2010, 08:07 AM I have no idea why he was fired (since I honestly have barely listened in a couple weeks due to incessant political discussion) but if it was for talking politics on sports radio I hope they fire anyone else who keeps it up as well.
I can go get political commentary from anywhere. Don't need or want it on sports radio.

Chris in Mass 01-21-2010, 11:36 PM The only time I would pull away from satellite and stern was Monday to maybe hear Brady or Belichick (sp?). I agree with Raider Ronnie, Ordway's show is tough to listen too. I never listened long enough to really know who was who, so it did sound like 25 guys yelling over each other. Maybe the callers will have a better chance now.

Not to mention Pete yelled louder than the rest of them !
Dad 818 01-22-2010, 07:56 PM Haven't listened to EEI since The Sports Hub started. Got sick and tired of the constant yelling over each other and mocking the callers who stay on the line for most of the show.
Smerlas is a dope. Ordway thinks he's God's gift to radio. The only show I occasionally flip to is Dale and Holley.
And I don't miss that station either.
BigFish 01-22-2010, 09:55 PM I like Dale and Holley! Hate Dennis and Callahan!
Raider Ronnie 01-23-2010, 10:17 AM I like Dale and Holley! Hate Dennis and Callahan!
I hate D & C for their sports, especially their hate for the Raiders,
But am right in line with them with their political views, especially Callahan.
Dale & Holley are not bad.
Met Dale many times @ school activities, he's another one like Scott Brown from Wrentham.
fishbones 01-23-2010, 03:00 PM I hope he lands on his feet. I don't listen to much of the sports talk these days, but when I do, I listen to WEEI. I tried 98.5 but the idiots in the morning are terrible (I think they're going for the teenage girl demographic), and Douchebag and Masarotti in the afternoon are unlistenable. All they do is whine and complain and act like a couple of women gossiping at the nail salon. Sheppard is actually a pretty decent guy. If he ends up going to a station out of state and puts his house on the market, it's in a great area for striper fishing. You can walk to some very good spots in minutes from the front door.
