I was taking out all of my studs in my sandals, and I busted a stud in one of them:smash:. What is the best way of getting the broken stud out? Its perfectly flush with the rubber part of the sandal.

Sorry FNG but the short answer is buy a new pair like I did if you have very many to replace

When I went to replace the broken and worn studs on mine, some did come out but half of them snapped...:mad:

Do a search of my posts from about a month or so ago on the subject - believe me, there wasn't a method I didn't use to get the remnants of the stud out - without success...:hs:

If they were K1000's, you could replace the studs with ss scews and washers - there's how-to's posted on the procedure in several places

Just be sure on your next pair to remove all the studs, brush the threads liberally with Permatex (about $5 for the lifetime supply from any auto supply place) and put 'em back in - that will keep them from rusting and seizing up

Its just one stud. If I can't get it out I won't worry about it. Its not worth paying $60 to fix the small problem.

you could drill it out but that can be a pain in the a**. i would just leave, the studs fall out all the time anyway maybe that one will :cheers:

I agree about not spending lots of $. Below is a good link to drilling/replacing with stainless steel screws.

I have a pair of 5000s that has about six studs on each sandal using this method. I've managed to get a full season at Montauk with them. I also have a brand new back-up pair that I have greased all the studs. When the first pair doesn't work for me anymore I'll be ready with a new one.
