Right now Delahunt has other problems brewing. He's deeply involved in this nut case that killed 3 in Alabama. Appears he was involved in no charges being filed when she killed her brother"by accident" with 3 shots fired.

Bobby Kennedy's house on Squaw Island inside the compound. Or a lot.

You would think that the Rhode Islanders have learned their lesson with Patrick. He brought nothing to Rode Island but high unemployment. Maybe some think that is a plus. Why would they want another Kennedy?

he might have a shot at that... now that Teddy is gone, I hear the "old homestead" is not that important to the remaining clan... much talk of how to unload it.. the town does not want it made into a museum, or tour destination the traffic nightmare in that area would not fly.. the appeal of the compound is lost on Gen 3 and 4...
might just all go on the block...soon

I wasn't around when the Bishop shooting happened, but in fairness to Delahunt, it sounds like the police botched that investigation from the outset.

There isn't a lot that a DA can do to salvage a botched investigation, as they have to turn over every piece of paper prepared by every cop involved to the defense. Sometimes, they have to make a determination whether there is any hope of getting a conviction before they spend the resources on a prosecution where reasonable doubt exists from the get-go.

The only witness to the shooting was the mother of the two, and she was going with "accident", from what I've read.

Every politician who has ever been a DA has a Bishop-like skeleton somewhere in their past.

The real blame falls on the former Braintree police chief who, at the time covered it up. But since perception is reality, Delahunt will be dogged by the Bishop case if he decides to run again. People will still blame him for the mishandling of the case and it will impact how they vote.

I doubt he'll run again anyways. He has plenty of connections in the public and private sector and will land a cushy job with a big paycheck.

This is one of the reasons why the staties (CPAC) are in charge of every death regardless of the circumstances now. You still can't convince me that Delahunt never had any conversation with anyone about why she wasn't charge. Delahunt ultimately is the leading law enforcement officer in that county, and it falls on his plate. The officers should have had more backbone and told the chief to take a hike when that call was made.

I heard Delahunt o the radio this morning. He was throwing the state troopers under the bus. Blaming them for not giving him the info. A born leader he is.
