Ive got a few and they get the job done for the most part but they are pretty thin nylon and they twist rather easily when loaded. Im lookin for a thicker belt that keeps its shape better. Who makes a thick belt? I haven't seen the AS hunter elite in person yet.

Uncle mikes duty belt works for me

After looking around some more i dont think AS makes a hunter elite belt after all. Atleast i couldt find it. Will look into a Uncle mikes.

Rob here the link to the belt it is pretty heavy duty. i just picked one up a couple weeks ago so can't really say how it holds up. Also look for a bianchi police belt (i think thats the name), some guys have had pretty good luck with that belt.

The belt is very heavy duty. It has two different points that need to be pressed in order to open it up. This should prevent the belt from ever opening when you don't want it to. There is is what feels like plastic of some sort inside the webbing so the belt holds its shape very well. It is thick, however, and you may need to modify the belt or anything you attach to it.

I have had my belt for about 15 years and I carry a ton of crap on it. It's from the Surfcaster. It has the plastic closure that all the guys bitch about opening. A simple and foolproof fix for this problem it a simple plactic wire tie, the things used to bundle wires together. Just make it slightly bigger than the closure thingie and slid it on once you have the belt on. I think the belt was about $10 or $12.

AS still makes the hunter belt. Check out Galls they have quite a few military/ tactical belts. save you a couple bucks too.

I'll second the belt from surfcaster

Bianchi Gun Belts its what the Hunter and etc. are all modeled after. I have the Model 7202, for a year and if you saw it you would swear it was brand new, and it got used alot.

It is 2 and 1/8".

I've found the best belt so far is, go to a dive store, get a diving belt with the fast release buckle, plastic! Very low in cost and works really great, along with the fact that you can put stuff on it. Mine is 2&1/2" wide very strong and you really have to pull to release the buckle, it only takes one finger to do this.

Gotta agree with the dive belt.

Uncle Mike's Duty Belt for me. It's a gun belt, EMT belt, etc made for putting lots of heavy gear on it. It's got double layers of stiff webbing with a plasic stiffener inbetween. One neat thing is it has velco on the inside so when you put things on it you can put the mating velco over it on the inside and it doesn't move around.

I agree with Uncle Rob on the dive belt available at most dive shops. I had the Surfcaster belt for a while with the plastic buckle but found it poppin open at bad times (prolly b/c I'm fat too). Fisherman's Supply in Pt. Pleasant has the entire dive belt with a stainless steel buckle (for around $14) that I have had zero problem with, never opens, holds all accesories. Once locked will never open unexpectedly.

The photo doesn't give you a good look at the buckle but it is the best I have available.

If you go Uncle Mikes make sure you get the heavy duty version as they make light duty belts...
BlackHawk makes them heavy duty... love their stuff...

I wore the Uncle Mikes leather belt so i can't comment on their webbed belts... I used to wear the Uncle Mikes sidekick for my 1911 which was made from webbed nylon and that was as tough as leather without being aggressive on clothing..

Picked up my De Santis belt for 6$ cant beat it. Its built real well and has held up great for me so far.
