I was there with a fiend and his son and my son
Was there from 11am-230pm and it was packed!!
I went to the RI show and it was a flop
I was happy to see the crowds
Maybe people are getting tired of being sick of this economy
At least I hope so
So something can start happening again
My friend bought a 22' Whaler
I was looking for a new 6Klb trailer for my Parker

Smaller this year, sign that vendors are not doing well.

Some big name manufacturers are not spending the $$$$$.

I work next door to it, might try a short visit midday this week sometime.

Thought the show was very small compared to recent years. A lot of big names didn't show up. Economy driven I sure. The 26' Steiger was best in show for affordability and fishing platform. The new super sized grady at 434k is ridiculous for a center console.

Not going to bother going this year.
But do plan to go to a real boat show in march.

How about the 34 regulator for a tad over $300k ... I personally like the Sailfish line of boats. They seem to be well put together, and have everything I would need.

The Doug guy on foxnews this morning interviewed one of the guys there that said the FL show did much better than expected for sales as did this one? Maybe the recession is thawing?
They also showed a Volvo IPS drive boat for $360K that they're introducing (normally $500K). I thought it was jet propulsion but apparently the propellers are facing forward. Wouldn't this rip them apart if you hit anything? And you can't fix them easily where they're located...

I went Sunday. It was much smaller than past years with much less to look at. Still fun to be around boats though.

I went about 4 years ago, it was a great show. The 26 General Marine had my interest back then.

Went to the Boston show on Sunday, spent the entire day there. Too much money for me, I'll be buying used next time around. or waiting for Matt to buy one first.

Went yesterday, about 2/3rd normal size of show, but still a nice walk-through and escape from the winter doldrums.

Took home the brochures on Rampage, Albemarle, and Luhrs. Told my nephew we will keep the Nauset for our bass and blues trips and use a new, fast, express for our tuna trips, park them side by each on the wharf. Gotta dream in the winter - but then again, the dealers were more than willing to deal.

I went yesterday, best part of the trip was down the road for No Name's seafood chowder, but it was a good show, it's a sign of spring.

The $400+K 36ft Grady CC was massive, 1050hp with the 3 350's on the stern, but at least grady has the courtesy of putting a price on the boats.

The 23ft Whaler looks just like Grady's 23 gulfstream.

The most interesing boat for me was the RIB boat with landing gear ( one wheel on the bow, 2 on the stern) that will move it on land at 6mph (propelled by a 2 stroke motor under center console seat). The boat might of been 20ft, with a 115 etec, If I'm ever looking to burn $83K, that might be the spot. http://www.sealegs.com/

Awesome drive system, the props are on pods mounted under the boat and rotate. You can drive the boat sideways. Better economy too. It can also hold the boat in one spot when interphased with nav. system

I heard this also,,,,I think what has happened is all those people that got rich when our 401Ks and investments tanked are buying new boats now. :fury::fury::smash::smash:

Maybe its just that the majority of people going to the show are actually considering buying a boat so the percentage of buyer seems high.

Rich, you really thinking about getting a second boat?

Until you hit something with them and rip the drive out of the boat.

:rotf3:

Already seen that one.

Mini-sized azimuth drives.
Nothing new.

Went yesterday and wass pretty disappointed. Much smaller than last year which was much smaller than previous years. Lots of missing brands that are fun to look at like Everglades and Southport.

My personal favorites were the Pursuit 315 and 345 but out of my league.

Not sure why anyone would buy one of the big CCs up in this area, but they are cool. The Regulator 34 and GW 33 and 36 are awesome machines.

Went Wednesday, 3 main goals, renew Boat US, Get a new battery for boat, and want to talk to Garmin. I was very disappointed that Garmin wasn't there as the manufacture in their own booth.
