As the old saying goes...

Last Friday my 9 yeasr old neice commented on a commercial she saw on TV.

Now a little back history of the person involved.
My youngest brother "BOB" is a true grump, a pure curmugeon, a real "glass-is-half-empty" kind of guy.
Now "Julia' saw a commercial for MIDOL, that explaining how this product helps eleviate the symptoms related to your "period".
Keep in mind that she's only 9, and hasn't experienced that, or been exposed to that. (all the nieces are around the same ag range, so when they'll all be able to comiserate when the time comes).

Julia sees the commercial, not fully understanding what a "period" was, but understanding the symptoms associated with it, and turns to Uncle "BOB" and asks "What do you do when you have your period Uncle Bobby?"

Needless to say my mother, Julia's grandma, couldn't contain herself and laughed herself to tears. WHen I heard this, I thought it was hillarious, mainly because we always joke about Bob being "on the rag" with his negativity.

So, as I said, out of the mouths of babes come pearls of wisdom!!

We jokingly call him "Bobby Bummer" (like the SNL charater "Debbie Downer")
All it takes is hitting the right topic and the flood gates open up.:rotf2:

The funniest thing is that our neice Julia is smart. She picks up on things quickly and will let you know if you make a mistake in a heartbeat.

For the past year or two she was practically unbeatable at the game "Connect 4", which is like a vertical type of tic-tac-toe. It took a lot of patience and practice before I could beat her at this game.
(Wait a second...that means I'm not smarter than a 3rd grader?)
