Need a nice wireline rod to use on the CC, looking for something that I can hold with one hand wilst steering the machine.

What do people use?

go to cms and buy one or ask him what he uses for a blank. Use a rod holder and a glove for solo application.

I have to put an angled rod holder on the hand rail, the rod holders on the side rail are a little to far away for me to feel comfortable using solo

I have a nearly brand new wire rod and reel(used maybe once or twice) built by CMS that is 4 years old and has a 4/0 senator reel....haven't thought of selling it until reading this post, but if you're interested shoot me a pm and you can check it out. Its the standard setup used by the commercial fleet.

I also have a wire rod and reel for sale, if you want. It's a Penn wire rod with a Penn133H loaded with wire complete with the Dacron splices. It's only about 5' 6" and I used it to drag wire alone on my boat. It's easy to handle being that the rod is short.
