an old guy a work told me that you can put a coating of linseed oil on your asphalt shingle roof to make it last 3-5 more years instead of getting a new one.
he claims it reconditions the shingle. what do you guys think? would you do it?

Nope....doesn't sound like a good idea?? I would not think asphalt shingles would absorb linseed oil???

The neighborhood birds would love it.
Years ago we used it inside of wood gutters and the birds would be at the drain pipe sipping it.
