I made these to throw at albies...

I had some scraps of tiger maple leftover from some stuff I did a few years ago, so I tried to make some stuff the same size as the deadly #^&#^&#^&#^&s we usually throw. Lots of lead in these little guys. weights are between 1 1/8 to 1.5 oz.

I really like the bright colors on the maple. I hadn't tried that before but I really like the way they came out.

I tried a bunch of different stuff on these. I ended up sanding them very smooth and then applying createx with a brush while they were on the lathe. now I have a polka dotted lathe.. Spin em for a minute them hit em with some 400 grit and it will leave just the stripes painted.

On the pink ones and the top green one I just left the stripes as tehy looked after sanding, although there is some pearlex pigment in the epoxy of teh pink ones which puts a purple sheen on the sides.

I found if you do the stripes with a dark paint and then go over the whole thing with a lighter transparent color it really pops. Its too bad the purple and pink one did not have good grain. That one would have been the best. You can't really see it in the picture but the two small green ones have blue stripes.

Well it only took me 7 years to get these in front of some willing to eat albies. I went 1-3 on these today...

Kind of surprised I was even able to find an of those lures still after that long.

I'd be curious to see how stripers would react to them in stormy waters. Thats a nice albie!
