About the only thing I haven't really got covered for the show, terminal tacklewise, are swivels and fluro. I'm going to order some for the show anyway and I'm curious what people like to use for size. I know size matters so that's why I'm asking:).

Now I'm guessing there should be two separate groups, shore=heavier and boat=lighter, but then again I'm a little radical as far as what most would consider "boat gear". For example I use 30# spiderwire (normal), to a #10/30lb test crane swivel (lighter than most), followed by either 20 or 30 lb Seagar Fluorocarbon and the Owner/Kalin Hook/Jig I'm using. I had hoped to order some Spro Power Swivels, since there 70lb test is smaller than anyones 30lb test #10 swivel, but they are also very very expensive.

So I'm thinking 20 & 30 on the Fluro and #10/30lb and #7/75lb test Sampo Crane swivels, but I'd like to know what people think. Now I'm only moving in a direction to stock the terminal gear that makes sense and matches up with my plastics.

Help me out guys, I can't believe I'm the only one using swivels or Fluro. I'd like to order tomorrow, so I'd like to know if the 30lb and 75 lb test (size 10 and 7) are going to cover most guys terminal needs with plastic. Ditto on the 20 and 30 lb test Seagar fluro.

Thanks.

Hey GS, All set I talked to Rick and those other plans have been cancelled.

As far as florocarbon, that is what we use 30lb for all of our teaser rigs and for barrel swivels and snaps we use berkley crosslok #3-60 lb, I believe. But it sounds like what you are going to order would cover it. You may want to get a couple of spools of heavier floro for the rock hoppers. The show is coming fast, gotto go get back to tying.

I use 40# and 50# Fluoro, but not exclusively for plastics. I'm also throwing plugs, jigs and metal with it.
I also use #5 and # 7 crane swivels.
BTW, I fish beaches and jetties mostly.

Believe it or not , i don't use swivels or flouro.I almost never use a swivel and use 50 or 60 lb Ande for leaders. When not at the Ditch , i still don't use swivels and use 30 lb Ande.

i personally would never use spro swivels. i did a test last year on them and it didn't take much side pressure to pop one apart. they are brittle. i'd rather use sampo
