Maybe someone can PM me or post some spots to try for trout in MA, that are close to my commute, 95N to 128 to needham.

So I live in SoCo RI and drive to Needham MA everyday for work.
While I wait for the stripers to arrive, I am thinking trout could be the thing.

This discussion on the Thomas Buoyant Spoons got me thinking to give it a go.

Thanks for any advice,

I would call Ma division of fisheries and ask them about stockings. I'm not sure on that area but I called about another area yesterday to find out stockings will start next week. The people are very nice to deal with and will even tell you your best chance at holdovers if you ask. They won't give your their stocking route though:wall:. And they won't post until all stockings are done. I think a call wouldn't hurt. GL

You need to check out the state's pond maps......they list ponds for the area's you travel/work in......pond maps will tell you what ponds they stock......remember trout need 28 to 33 feet of water to hold over in the summer so ponds of those depths or greater would be the ponds to fish now.......

MassWildlife - Pond Maps (http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dfw/habitat/maps/ponds/pond_maps.htm)

In a couple of weeks you a check on MA stocking operations for the spring.......

MassWildlife - Fisheries Information (http://www.mass.gov/dfwele/dfw/fisheries/fisheries_home.htm)

good luck........
