He's only 6-1/2 so I'm not expecting this to go very far...but when you can find a complete kit (just need batteries and engines) at TJMaxx for 19.95 some things are just worth doing. All the fins are press fit plastic so it's nearly impossible to screw up. Nice, i used to have all kinds of rockets when i was younger. then when i got older they all got packed full of powder and blown to kingdom come!
