Sovereign Bank and some others do it for you if your an account holder WESTPORTMAFIA 03-25-2010, 04:52 PM My local credit union has one. When I found out I was having a kid I started saving for his bank account. My 1st trip with change landed over $400 bucks. And the last couple of trips close to $100 each. Try to find a free one at a local bank. The 1st trip would have cost me 40 bucks. The hell with that. ecduzitgood 03-25-2010, 04:56 PM I think I read somewhere that Stop n Shop has a coin-star machine and if you have their card (S&S) there is no fee, I would check before using it. I would check Shaws also because I can't remember which supermarket it was. Harbour one I have been told doesn't charge a fee either. JohnnyD 03-25-2010, 04:58 PM A few years ago, Bank of America did it for free for their customers. You can give them a bag of unrolled coins and they'll deposit it into your account within a few days. With all the cost cutting, this may have changed. Backbeach Jake 03-25-2010, 05:02 PM Send it to me, I won't charge you ...:) JamesJet 03-25-2010, 07:26 PM Every year at Christmas my wife and I use the coin star and select gift certificates. If you choose gift certs from amazon, cabelas, bass pro etc there is no charge. If you just want the cash its like .09 on the dollar. At least a few family members a year get gifts from amazon that originated in the change jar. They have some good gift cards you can get. We usually do amazon. Not all machines have the gift card option and some have different ones so you have to do some checking. justplugit 03-25-2010, 09:33 PM Tagga, call a TD Bank in your area and ask if they have a Coin Machine, as not all of them do. If they do, it is free to use by everybody at no-charge. No wooden nickle please. :D chrisjoe13 03-26-2010, 07:59 AM I'm cheap so I roll quarters and dimes (free rolls from the bank), and then dump the pennies and nickels into the coinstar machine. To me, it is worth the 9% to not roll the small stuff. OLD GOAT 03-26-2010, 08:21 AM Tagger Try TD Bank they have a coin counter at some branches Cool Beans 03-26-2010, 09:42 AM The Middletown, RI Stop and Shop has one. looks like you just scan your stop and shop card and dump in your change. it says "no fee" but Ive never used it Swimmer 03-26-2010, 12:57 PM Is there some place where you can dump loose change in a machine to be counted ?
