View Full Version : Girl's day on the water?
Fisherwoman 02-26-2003, 12:59 PM Jenn and I have decided to try and put together a trip for all the women on this board or the husbands better halves, tehe!!!
Who would be interested in getting together sometime in mid May for a get together, this is for a little commeraderee, seeing some new spots, getting the day off from the kids and the hubby and doing some surf fishing, I have fished the cape alot and have some great spots we can hit and probably get into bass and blues
throughout the day. So anyone interested, lets start putting it together so I can schedule it around the guide business. This should prove to be a great time. So let me know??????/
JohnR 02-26-2003, 01:48 PM I will show this to my better half :)
Sweetieface 02-26-2003, 02:09 PM I'm in.
When and where?
Just don't laugh at my little cheappy fishing rod. I may buy myself another good one for my birthday!
Saltheart 02-26-2003, 02:46 PM Hey wait a minute! If we tried to have a men only fishing gathering , you ladies would have the Civil Liberties Union down on us! :)
Actually , I think its a great idea. Don't go too early in May though. As I remember , we did the "Mystery Tour" very early in May and just about got skunked.
Good Luck Ladies.
Sweetieface 02-26-2003, 02:50 PM Hell No!
Have an all male review...I mean, fishing outing.....
We'll probably crash it!!!
Hey, a "StriperTalk!" reunion fishing expo might not be a bad idea. Both genders. Get to know who we're writing to...
TheSpecialist 02-26-2003, 05:18 PM I will talk to my wife maybe she will go... She can use her new Lami.
Just don't laugh at my little cheappy fishing rod
can you catch fish with it???? than what does it matter???:D
Hey, a "StriperTalk!" reunion fishing expo
you need to go to the mass bass show next month....FW will most likely be there...so will I (not sure when though) and your likely to meet many of us there.....not to mention if there is ANYTHING you need for striper fishing...you can find it there! its quite a ride for me...but well worth it.
Saltheart.....no we wouldnt have CL after you.....but we might just crash your party!!! ;) ;)
for the wives....think of the opportunity here!!!!
Notaro 02-27-2003, 12:06 AM *tittering voicew* ohh, could i join you gals on a surffishing trip? i could wear a wig like a silly 12 yrs on jerry springer's who pretended to be bi and dressed like a lady...
just kidding, we could have a cookout or something afterward.
JohnR 02-27-2003, 07:48 AM Uhh no. Notaro - you don't understand. When they say ladies only the mean ladies only, to the pint that they'll slash tires, use pepper spray, and if one participant happens to be your significant other - go Praying Mantis on ya....
Probably not a good idea :smash: ;)
Katie 02-27-2003, 09:09 AM hey i'm in but the only wayi can get in is either my mom comes with me. (which she hates saltwater (boo!) lol or i will cook something else up..) lolthey'll slash tires, use pepper spray, and if one participant happens to be your significant other - go Praying Mantis on ya.... Exactlly (can't spell... lol)
Fisherwoman 02-27-2003, 09:33 AM OK, Looks like we are getting some interest, Sorry Notaro, Ifin I see ya you may be in trouble:rocketem: LMAO, I do hunt also.
Sweetie Face & katie, welcome to the fun, Katie don't worrry we will try and work it out somehow.
Saltheart, now would we do that, come on were not like that we are ladies remember, LOL
JohnR please mention it to the other half and if you talk to Schoolie let his other half know.
I am going to check the tides for that week, Does a Sunday work for everybody?
Sweetie Face, as far as the MSBA show goes, we will be there so if you can make it come down and say hello.
I will reserve the sand sled for that weekend and.....:D :D :D
got a small gas grill..if we want to go that route..( I realize SOME people cant live on nicotine and caffiene like others can..... )
I am getting pretty wound up about this already!!!
Katie well have to work on that for ya!!;)
if one participant happens to be your significant other - go Praying Mantis on ya....
So...John....does this mean you will be babysitting that day?????:D :D :D I really think youre just afraid to let her fish w/ the likes of us.....;) :laughs:
Notaro 02-27-2003, 12:49 PM i was kidding, john. yeah, they should have a girl's fishing slumber. it's a great benefit for them.
schoolie monster 02-27-2003, 04:25 PM Hey FW, wouldn't that leave me at home alone with the TWINS? Keep your darn Girls day out to yourself!!!
Just kidding, I'll let her know and see if she's interested. I really hope she gets out a bit more this year. Its been a long year for her and she needs to get out on the water.
Katie 02-27-2003, 05:44 PM the only way i can go if it is on a weekend.. Sorry i am still in school for what 3 or 4 more months.. wow school year goes by fast.
My better half is very much interested so long as it's not on the 4th.
Fisherwoman 02-27-2003, 07:47 PM Hey SM, how are the little bambino's anyhow? YES she does deserve a day out and on top of that it may earn you some fishing brownie pionts ya know!!!!!!
Katie, it will definatley have to be a weekend day, Sunday is probably best for everyone.
Arl, would love to have her come the more the marier and it will probably be later in the month.
I need to check the tides but am looking at possibly May 11th which is mothers day so I don't know how that will work for everybody or the 18th.
Anybody have any thoughts on these dates??????/
Fisherwoman 02-28-2003, 04:15 PM Hi Ladies, I bumped this up because it went to page 2 , anyone have any comments on those possible dates?
I preffer the 18th but the 11th is do-able
BEETLE 02-28-2003, 11:10 PM FW - Mentioned this to my wife - she's not to fond of the early am stuff - i'll keep working on her.
Fisherwoman 03-01-2003, 10:11 AM Tell her once she is up and has a cup of coffee she will be all set!!!!!!
- she's not to fond of the early am stuff
my mood is pretty ugly in the morning.....but if I can do it...so can she.......
and god forbid I didnt have at LEAST one cup of coffe before I leave....
STEVE IN MASS 03-01-2003, 01:11 PM Jenn.....this MORNING????....your post was 12:57 PM....:p :laughs: ;)
BTW, hope ya got my PM and the link........
Katie 03-01-2003, 08:22 PM ok weekend good. long as its the weekend of monday the 26 (which is memorial day i believe) i have that monday off. so it would work out perfectly.
no not this morning...IN THE MORNING...meaning just about EVERY morning...!!!! and yes I did get it thank you.....now I have to get to work!!!:D
Fisherwoman 03-03-2003, 09:01 AM Hi Katie, sorry but it is probably going to be the weekend of the 18th due to access on the cape. When Memorial day rolls around it is a whole different story on traffic and spots to fish. I hope that you can possibley make it that weekend.
Notaro 03-03-2003, 01:26 PM FW- are you fishing in March for stripers? I don't think that there are any striper in March. You should try Rockport.
Fisherwoman 03-04-2003, 01:15 PM Notaro, sometimes we fish in March at a certain holdover spot on the cape. But just haven't had time this month, too many irons in the fire right now. But I will be going soon as I am about to Crack!!!!
chris L 03-04-2003, 01:19 PM Hi Ladies ! Im ready for :boots: :boots: .
Notaro 03-04-2003, 01:35 PM fw, it looks like u re gonna have to wait for now...
Sweetieface 03-04-2003, 04:42 PM I'm ready. Any weekend, just let me know which.
Rockport sounds good. Up by me a bit more!!
For those of you who are not morning people: remember, its FISHING, not work! Up with the sun (or well before) out on the H2O! Thats when those giant fish are out, eh?
We got any dates yet? 11th, 18th, work for me.
When are we going?
When are we going?
When are we going?
I asked you three times already!!!
Katie 03-04-2003, 05:04 PM Fisherwomen, I can try and work something out.. Is this going to be an over nite thing?
SF...little anxious????heehee....
FW...I think I just found myself a new accomplice for ANNOYING the heck outta you!!! well...huh, huh, huh????:D what do you say??? HUH>??? (sweetie face....FW justs LOVES it when I get all jittery and wound up on her!!)
Katie.....I think FW was thinking just a day???? a sunday by the sound of things......but dont you worry sunshine...I did a little "behind the scenes" for you...:D
Katie 03-05-2003, 08:34 AM Okay cool fantastic.. see i am starting to get all wound up like you do... I wanna go fishing again... lol
Fisherwoman 03-05-2003, 09:57 AM Ladies, Ladies, come the freag down all ready, NOT, believe me I can't wait either.
This will be most likely a day trip on a Sunday, those of you who need to travel we can maybe get a room or 2 at the thunderbird or some place on the cape Saturday night and start early on Sunday. The rooms are pretty inexpensive. But we will fine tune this as time goes by. I haven't defiatley decided on the day yat, but it is looking like possible the 18th, I guess mothers day would probably be out for most of you huh??????
I can't wait!!!!!!
:laughs: :p     :heybaby:
Notaro 03-05-2003, 01:42 PM how abt all of you go to deveruax beach in marblehead and surf-fish for cods?
so u ladies can have a winter fishing, but not me. :fishslap:
and that should be able to relieve your tensions, jenn.
Sweetieface 03-05-2003, 01:43 PM I could do Marblehead...
Notaro 03-05-2003, 01:47 PM good, but dress heavy and warm, jenn.
Katie 03-12-2003, 08:30 AM i can dress warm but if i do i won't be able to carry my poles.. i got bait, bucket, pole holders,2 poles?? not sure.. lol... i'll find a way.. this will be fun
Swimmer 03-12-2003, 09:32 AM Jul's, thats the difference between guys and gals. Your arranging a trip for a day (shortsighted at best) and we guys would try and weasel a whole weekend out of it. Regardless I hope everyone has fun.
:bgi:
JohnR 03-12-2003, 10:07 AM i can dress warm but if i do i won't be able to carry my poles.. i got bait, bucket, pole holders,2 poles?? not sure.. lol... i'll find a way.. this will be fun Katie - you be introduced to the "light weight" fishing methods. Unlike your Dad, most people feel that dragging 7 rods, bait, spikes, and harmonic balancer puller all of 2 miles is a bit much :D . When FW speaks of "Girls Day Out", she can give you more specifics but you'll likely bring one medium sized rod, waders (worn warmly), some plugs & tackle in a small bag. This allows you to get around quicker :D
We're working on your Dad - so far we have gotten him not to bring the tent, cooler, grille, 40 Megawatt Coleman Lantern, and 5" B&W TV when he fishes :laughs:
STEVE IN MASS 03-12-2003, 11:02 AM Hey, I LIKED that TV.....;)
We're working on your Dad - so far we have gotten him not to bring the tent, cooler, grille, 40 Megawatt Coleman Lantern, and 5" B&W TV when he fishes
in his defense...he IS alsways prepared though...;)
and we guys would try and weasel a whole weekend out of it.
the difference???? eek! even though our planned trip is one day....I sure the heck plan on making a weekend out of it!!!!

ok maybe i'm over doing it with the smilies..
Saltheart 03-13-2003, 09:11 AM What an incredible level of excitement here! I've been looking for a way to get women excited for the last 30 years and now I find out all you have to do is take them fishing!! Live and learn! :)
SweetieFace , you want to do this way further south than Rockport or Marblehead. Fish will be active sooner further south.
Katie for this kind of spring fishing , everything you need should fit in a small purse with a shoulder strap. Actually , maybe not a purse since it will get wet but about that size.
Anyway , I'm still thinking this is not fair to men but I guess I'll have to live with it! :)
Fisherwoman 03-13-2003, 12:20 PM Swimmer & Saltheart, you just want to go with us, but you can't!!!!!! SORRY
Katie, don't worry about the waders, we will get more into this later as I am in the middle of taking my captains liscencs final test on Saturday, but I got ya covered, Sweetie face or anybody else, if you don't have the right gear, we have plenty extra that we use for our guide service so don't worry we will get ya set up.
We will get into more specifics after the MSBA show next weekend, just kinda going crazy right now. But I will post things you need to bring and stuff and then we will work out the details!!!
Saltheart 03-13-2003, 12:31 PM Oh man!! All the hot babes are going fishing and we can't go with them. :( :(
Notaro 03-13-2003, 01:38 PM saltheart, where are the hot babes? if there were any of them, none of them would go fishing with us.
Saltheart 03-13-2003, 01:51 PM The term "hot babes" is an expression used to inflame the tempers of outdoorsy type women!
Notaro 03-13-2003, 01:53 PM hahahhaha, that's funny, saltheart. so what's the report on the cape?
JohnR 03-13-2003, 02:21 PM so what's the report on the cape? snow....
Got Stripers 03-13-2003, 03:07 PM FW, what about those nice dressed hoties I see lurking around the canal during the summer? You might need a "man" sized extra wader for these "girls" however, although I think it unlikely they would want to be seen in public out of their heels.

Notaro 03-13-2003, 07:30 PM i wonder how long will this thread last because we keep whining about it until May. *sighs* Can't you people medidiate like buddhists?
mar t 03-13-2003, 07:42 PM FW, i will bring it up to my better half she'll be having the baby in late april so she should be ready be late may i'm sure.
fishweewee 03-13-2003, 08:15 PM My wife has always complained that we don't spend enough quality time together between April and November.
So I bought her a pair of nice ladies' waders and a custom rod and a VS150 reel.
I'll show her quality time! :p :laughs:
Fisherwoman 03-13-2003, 08:27 PM Fishweewee, maybe you should ask her if she would like to join us.
Mar t, no problem, she will probabaly need a day out after that, best of luck to you both.
Hot Babes huh, ya that's me LMAO!!!!
Notaro 03-13-2003, 08:53 PM fishweewee, how did she react to your gift? i hope that she didn't toss them at you. i mean who knows your wifey might not like fishing?
fishweewee 03-13-2003, 09:19 PM Notaro,
Let me just say her reaction was ... err ...
I get a more enthusiastic response out of her when I take her to the mall. :laughs:
Notaro 03-13-2003, 09:21 PM hahaha, if u re bringing ur wife with us on a fishing trip, i wont be able to hear both of u bec i will let u guys do it behind the rock or a trash can like marge and homer did.
fishweewee 03-13-2003, 09:26 PM Notaro,
Fishing is more fun. (Oh man, I'm in trouble now...) :smash:
Notaro 03-13-2003, 09:28 PM why are u in trouble? did i just exposed your dirty secret?
