View Full Version : March Snowmobiling Pics
tynan19 03-26-2010, 04:28 PM I don't think I have put any snowmobiling topics up this year. So I am bored at work and looking for something to do. Most of the pics are from the last 2 weeks up in The West Forks Maine and the Allagash Waterway.Click on the thump to make it bigger. These three are of our clubs new bridge, Mt. Katahdin and The Indian Pond Hydro Dam

Rode from West Forks to there. 230 mile trip. First Pic is of Kacie on Chesuncook Lake North of Moosehead about half way to the trains.

Very nice! funny you got me thinking I dont think I got any snow pics in myself this year! Headed northwest in the EARLY a.m. for several hours of riding before that chaos/snocross show begins. we stick to the secondaries for solitude but then have to hit the main drag to get back. They still had good snow last week but we rode in 65 degree weather. I suspect this weekend is definately our last "hoo-rah" but I leave my options open just in case....
How you lovin the gade? I am starting to get to the point where I cant stand not havin one.....:smash:

OLD GOAT 03-27-2010, 08:29 AM Was that a picture of Repaginious dam ,up past Kokadjo???
Over fifty years since i,ve been up there
great pics! Im sorry did you say 90mph? yowzas!
tynan19 03-30-2010, 05:10 PM Old Goat, that Dam is The Indian Pond Hydro Electric Dam on the Kennebec. It is where the white water rafting on the Kennebec starts. We ride out past Kokadjo and into the Allagash every year via Chesuncook Lake ( Connected to Ripogenus) and the West Branch of the Penobscot River.
Nebe, that is 90mph plus. Kacie has never ridden past 85 before so it took her a few miles but we were cruising right next to each other at 95 for a while. It seems fast but when your going 20 miles on a lake that is flat as a road it is not problem.
Great pics...alot of fun. I canoed the west branch to & across chesuncook...I like your way much better
tynan19 03-30-2010, 05:23 PM A few more from this past weekend. Rode out of West Forks and over to the Quebec Border. Still lots of snow but with all this rain not sure it will last. Mt. Katahdin in the background and Sugarloaf in the other.

Offshore24 04-08-2010, 12:37 PM Hard to believe we were just up there two weekends ago. Yesterday it was 87 in Portland. I am getting ready to fish, day by day. New lines, knots, gear, leaders. I can't wait for the fishing to begin--------->
tynan19 04-08-2010, 08:27 PM Soon!
