View Full Version : I NEED A BOAT MECHANIC!!
piemma 04-03-2010, 10:10 AM Anyone know a good, honest boat mechanic in RI? I can deliver the boat to him. Pease let me know. I have throttle linkage and electrical problems that are well beyond my limited mechanical ability.
If anyone does, please PM me a name and number. I'll owe you a bunker trip in June on Narragansett Bay

Brian L 04-03-2010, 10:15 AM Hi Paul,
If you don't mind the drive, Paul Dittrich and the Avondale Boat Yard in the Watch Hill area are absolutely phenomenal. They're very passionate about boats and I've found they go out of their way to make sure their customers are satisfied. Fair pricing and above all, great integrity. They'll run you through every process they perform and every part they replace. I've been working with them for ten years and wouldn't bring my ride anywhere else. If you haven't got anyone yet I can get you in touch with them.

piemma 04-03-2010, 03:51 PM Hey Brain, great talking. Thanks for the help. I will call Paul Monday.
Brian L 04-03-2010, 04:06 PM Same here, Paul. Sorry about the screaming kid in the background. :)
I just called Paul, so he'll be expecting your call on Monday.
Good luck!
piemma 04-07-2010, 11:37 AM Well, I dodged the bullet on the throttle cable and fixed it myself. Thought I had the Tach problem fixed but NO, it still doesn't register even with a new telflex tach. Found a Yami dealer in Webster MA that is 15 minutes from my home. Just dropped the boat at the dealer. It's running rough and the head mechanic says one the carberators is screwed up. I have 4 carbs so one out of wack will make the whole motor shake and act like it's dying.
Screw it.Let them fix everything right. I just don't have the mechanical ability to mess with it. Now if it was a network software issue.....
