I just received a phone call from one of my lifelong friends. Another friend that we grew up with in our old neighborhood from the time we were in diapers has passed away at 44 years old. Words can't describe the feelings that are washing over me right now as I only found this out a moment ago. Another sad reminder that life, so precious, is sometimes just too short. His name was Ronnie to our small group of friends who grew up together and very close in our small neighborhood. Though through the years we saw each other less often we did keep in touch and saw each other in passing occasionally and our families still live in the old neighborhood....my Mom and Ronnie and his parents are still there. He had a bad heart I am told.....this I was not aware of until just today. Please have a good thought for a guy who was just a wonderful person and a very dear friend of mine. I will remember him always as the kid I grew up with.....caring, friendly and just a good person. Rest in peace Ron.:(

I don't do the prayer thing, but sorry for the lose of a close personal friend.

Thanks guys. Ron and his brother Richie and their Dad are also big striper fishermen! I remember when I was a young kid and Ron's dad came by our house with a slob of a striper he had caught...at least 40 pounds plus! First time I had ever seen a striper before. This is the first of our group growing up to pass away so its quite a bitter pill to swallow.....just too damn young.
