we hooked up on one the other day. there was a small whale hanging around, pilot/minke? it felt like i hooked a haddock as soon as my jig hit the bottom. a few seconds later the reel starts singing, lost alot of braid quick. luckily - we snagged the line later and got back the braid and the rig. i wonder if he was going after the haddock or just ran over the line. so who else has had this happen over the years? first time for me

we did okay. it was a slow pick. a little lumpy getting out there in the am. dan the man had the hot hand - most and biggest. the nerve of the punk, outfishing me on his first trip w/ me. i'll have to spank him next trip
