One tough SOB he is. Names Eminem. Hunts mice in the grass all day long. Any way, kill that friggin'fox. Get a bow, and bait him in. If you have an FID get a .22 and tap him in the noggin. justplugit 05-04-2010, 07:39 PM My neighbor has a cat in Truro that beat a fox, but lost an eye doing it. One tough SOB he is. Names Eminem. That cat should start his own protection racket. cheferson 05-05-2010, 08:50 AM Why not keep cat inside , and leave the fox be? RIROCKHOUND 05-05-2010, 08:54 AM Pfft. leave the cats outside, keep the fox as a pet :D ecduzitgood 05-05-2010, 09:33 AM Keep the cat indoors! There should be a leash law for cats just like dogs. I keep my dogs fenced or on a leash that way they are safe and don't cause any headaches for anyone else. Basically my dogs are my problem they shouldn't have any impact on anyone else in the neighborhood or driving by for that matter nor should anyones cat. PRBuzz 05-05-2010, 09:48 AM There should be a leash law for cats just like dogs. Absolutely. Another advantage of having the leash, when they come in my yard they bring the noose. Can anyone tell that I'm not that fond of stray cats! It is not that I don't like them, I grew up with pet cats. Swimmer 05-05-2010, 07:09 PM Pump pellet gun will kill the fox. If the first shot doesn't the second will after you place the barrel against the foxes head. As far as the trap goes, don't worry about a skunk. What you have to do is have a barrel of water ready which is deep enough so the entire trap fits in it. If you trap a skunk use a long pole such as a painters entension pole and drag a blue plastic tarp over the trap. The same hole you made for the painters pole to stick through is the same hole your going to use to pick up the trap with the pole. You can pick it up then at a distance and drop it in the barrel with the trap over it. The skunk even if it sprays inside the tarp onto the ground the smell will go away in a couple of days. And you can always throw the blue plastic away. It takes about ten minutes. I could always tell you about what the farmer I know does with the hedgehogs he catches. It involves a wood box attached to an exhaust pipe. Goodbye. maddog2020 05-06-2010, 01:34 AM We keep our three fat cats inside. If they go out, they get a harness put on and are on a leash. A lot less cats in the area than there use to be - coyotes take way more cats IMHO. Neighbor down the street was feeding the coyotes a few winters back: her cat was fighting it for the piecs of ham ...... LOL. Suggested it wasn't a good idea to encourage them to come close to her home (she is an animal lover). I was sort of shocked her dad hadn't taken the coyotes - he's an avid shooter. :D .22 HP short will do the job. If you have enough of a distance buffer to the nearby homes then shoot the fox. Otherwise you don't want your neighbor calling the police on you. ;) Do you see the fox consistantly or now and then? Send me a pm if you need more aid. american spirit 05-12-2010, 11:06 AM i'll come over and shoot it for you. but i only have a 12 gauge. not sure if we can put some of my "personal protection" loads in there and blast it away. probably illegal in rica, but let me know what you want to do. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
