Hello.
Since I'm new at this, not sure what to say, sooo, I'll talk a bit about myself.
I'm not a politically correct person & I live in a senile free world even at my age, which is of considerable years. I am conservative, have no political party affiliation. I believe in the US Constitution & that guides my political thought.
I have a concealed carry permit, no, not for hunting, for self protection. I live in The Lone Star State, by Gods good grace. ;)
I like to think I am reasonable & open to others ideas & views.
Hopefully this is enough to get me started, & I look forward to posting.

to the land of S-B

we all help one another here with view points
and if they happen to go astray....someone ropes them
and pulls them back in to the S-B coral.

San Antonio, home of The Alamo, River Walk, & The Spurs. :)
What brought me to this site is, I was just browsing the internet, found this & even though I don't fish, it looked interesting, & here I am.
I have done a bit of deep sea fishing, which I did/do enjoy.

I get along with everybody, as long as they do what I say ;)

And while I don't knit, I do own knits.

A few years ago I was in San Antonio and Austin quite frequently. I remember a good lunch at the Gristmill and some great shopping at San Marcos.

Both seemed to be very nice towns.

The Gristmill is really nice, we always take our out of town guests there, when the weather allows. Gruene, where the Gristmill is located, is a nice little town, even if it is a bit touristy.
I'm not real fond of Austin, too yuppy for my likes, but it is pretty around there. San Antonio is a very well kept secret. While San Antonio is also a big tourist destination, it's big enough that we don't really notice.
I don't knit either, just wondering if you did. ;)

We knew some people in Fl, up on the panhandle that had a pet pig, called him "Rastnus", they'd call that pig & the pig would run over to them just like a puppy. Anyway, they invited us for a bar-b-q one Sunday, we go & guess what was on a spit. I couldn't eat.

Wow, learned a lot in this thread. Learned what we all suspected that Spence doesn't fish, we also learned that he doesn't knit, contrary to which we 'spected, but he he wears them (we knew).

I am Realistic

I came to this site the same way as you, just searching the origin of a quote. Google referenced a post on this site by Buckman. I stumbled into a group of very interesting, very "real" people, and got hooked. Like you, my fishing experience is limited and a bit ancient. Since the back and forth here is so much fun and often provactive, I looked for sites more in line with my interests, but they didn't appeal. You and I have a lot in common, except I don't own a gun. I like your wit and "realistic" perspective, and look forward to your posts. You and Spence should have some very interesting conversations.

This is quite unfair.

I actually do fish, just not that frequently anymore. Unfortunately I find it more and more difficult to justify hobbies that don't involve fitness. Perhaps I just like not being overweight more than fishing.

Unfortunately I also like pork fat, but this doesn't help with a diet. A good smoked bacon used in small amounts can work wonders. Another great alternative is to use smoked spices to add flavor without fat.

And you more than likely also wear knits.
