Bought myself my first new car in 25 years, I got a Nissan Altima Hybrid. I think the recall pressure on Toyota has them lowering prices and Nissan is fighting back. I got a 27K+ Altima for $20 , 800. Subtract from that the $2350 tax credit for buying a hybrid and the bottom line is a $27k+ high mileage car for $18,450. Incredible deal on a hybrid which up till this year were almost never discounted. My guess is the big deals dry up when the tax credit money runs out (already gone for Toyota who passed the 60K car limit for the tax credit) which will happen soon for the Nissans too. Its a great driving car. Has 200 HP and gets 35 mpg city or highway.

I like the Altima and Fusion Hybrids. Nice, practical ride.

What I want, Powerball willing, is to build a Ford GT hybrid. Take a 2005 Ford GT and put electric motor hubs (with regenerative braking) of about 100-150 or so HP each on the each front wheel :hee: :buds:

that's cool. I noticed they also have Chevy Tahoe hybrids, what do they get like 15mpg now?

Great deal! When I was pricing them a few months back I couldn't get anytihng close to that. Congrats on the new vehicle. May you have lots of safe miles in it!

My buddy who travels everyday in his Prius gets 48 mpg. Loves it.
