Although they won't get the money, the casino should pay them something for allowing this to happen, even if it is just a system error.
Why do these casinos still operate with these REPEATED errors occurring?
They used to say that these errors were one in a million, but when you have 3 or more in approx. 3 months it starts to make you wonder.

With all of the money these places rake in---and they rake in hundreds of millions a year--do you really think that they don't have every state gaming commissioner in the country in their pocket?

Here's how much cash casinos have. One time when I was in Atlantic City, I walked into the Trump casino that was back on the bay--not the one on the Boardwalk. Right inside the door, there was a 20' high Lexan cylinder, a foot in diameter, filled top to bottom with real $100 bills. If you guessed the total in there you won some kind of prize (unfortunately, NOT all the money in there). I told my ex--this is a business that can afford to tie up how many millions that were in that cylinder---cash--as an advertising prop and that if she had any sense we'd turn right around and leave.

Being that she's my ex--of course she didn't have the sense to leave

You can call anyone you'd like.

The chances that you're going to get anywhere are actually 1,000 times worse than your chances of winning a million dollar jackpot in the first place.

Elected officials all over the country kiss ass to get casinos in their burgs--look at Fall River and how they're practically sodomizing the Gay Head Wampanoags to get them to put a casino there :rotf2:

The casinos make enough coin to buy almost anyone, and state gaming commissioners are probably the easiest---how do you think someone gets to be a state gaming commission member? You really think it's a merit position--what they hell qualifies someone for the job--besides the obvious, that they've kissed other people's asses and taken it up their own all their adult lives? :biglaugh:

Not much different when its comes to RI state taxes.

You owe=jail.
They owe=to bad for me.

Right now in this country when it comes to local, state and federal government its basically become they can do whatever it takes to grab your cash.

Rhode Island has become a joke.Soda tax?Yup it'll probably happen and the crazy thing is the majority will go for it.Look at the town of Tiverton, the majority actually voted for an 8% increase in property taxes at the FTM so that the teachers can get hefty pay increases to still produce some of the most poorly educated kids the RI school system can produce. And the kicker is there's basically a clause in that budget that will allow for another 4% increase next year and the with all the details this increase in total over the next several years to equal a whopping possible 22% increase in total local taxes levied. You shoulda seen the look on the town councilpersons' and the union officials and the teachers' faces::jump:

So no it does not surprise me even slightly that these folks were denied their jackpot because the state screwed up!

Why, correct me if I'm wrong here, I believe that game is fixed!!.:rotf2: Sounds like the casino pretty much admitted it. In a true game of chance it would be possible to pull back to back prizes. Not likely, but possible.

Slots are computerized, and set up to basically pay 85 cents for every dollar they take in. They're the biggest sucker bet in the whole casino, blackjack and all those Asian sounding funky games included. At least roulette gives you almost even odds, if you play red/black or odd/even. Not quite even cause you also lose if it comes up 0 or 00.

Of course they're rigged--in favor of the house. Every game gives the house and edge.

Then of course, if the game malfunctioned and NEVER EVER hit a lackpot or a high payout prize, do you think they casino, or the state for that matter would pull that game and fix the problem?
Hell no! They would let it sit and collect 100% of the bets.

I say since the casino is responsible for the upkeep of their own damn machines, and they evidently failed to do so in this case, they are liable for any and all losses incurred due to their own negligence.

It's a two-way street: If you can't afford to lose, you shouldn''t bet, and if you can't maintain your machines, you should be prepared to pay ALL winnings.
