Ok whats in your day bag for plugs, tins, or lead?

Then what is in you night bag? Now what I want to know mostly is what colors do you like for these times. Dawn, sunset, night etc. This will help out many of us including newbies, me, Slipknot, .....

At times I think it depends where you are going to fish, time of year and presentations you are looking for. This is general...

night:
needles- black, black/purple
atom jr.'s- black, black/gold, black/purple
darters- same colors as a above, maybe a yellow
long A bomber & jointed bomber - silver/black, black, black/purple
mambo minnow - same as above
bottle plug - black, yellow

dawn / dusk:
assorted popper
ranger
atom jr.
pencil poppers
mambo's
darters
fat boys
tins

Any suggestion or comments?

rule of thumb is, use light colors during day and dark colors at night. poppers first then a little deeper.and next jigs. try to work the water colunms. if youre not moving around much.or changing spots. this only my techniques. so i guess i have a little of evrything with me.

Don't buy a big plug bag unless you are the type of person who fishes all night straight into the morning. I have seldom if ever used more than six plugs in one night or in one day.
I'm not going to get into plug selection because that can't really be covered - at least not the way it should be covered - within this format.
One of the 6-12 compartment bags sold by The Surfcaster mail order house should be fine. Get a couple of different inserts and divide the plugs by day/night application.

I have a small canal jig bag. Its a Samsonite with a big flap cover and a latch. Its about 5 inches wide and 2 inches thick and about 7 inches long. I carry about 6 each of 2 and 3 OZ bare unpainted balls for bouncing with tails. I carry about 6 each of 2, 3 annd 4 OZ white and or black smilin bills for drifting/bouncing. I also carry 4 OZ skin jigs and some skins in a zip lock bag. . I have a big assortment of plastic tails but mostly 7 inch Fin S fish in black/grey , 8 inch curltail grubs in black and white and a bunch of GS Mega jerks. I will also be carrying some 4 OZ balls this year since I got the mold. I sometimes carry bullet heads but they get stuck more so I like the balls better.

I also carry a good length of 60 LB leader material , some pliers with wire cutters , a tape measuer and a scale. Since i use spectron , I also like a small pair of scissors but find it hard to keep track of them for some reason so end up using the wire cutters most of the time. In adition to my headlight , i also carry a small waterproof flashlight handing from the jig bag. Its a heavy bag do to the lead but small in size. It has a wide strap so that helps keep the weight from digging into my shoulder. All the jigs are inside plastic tubes inside the bag. Since almost all the jigs have big 8/0 34184hooks , the bag wouldn't last long without the plastic tube liners.
