I agree, not easy to make a plastic plug that swims well. Defiantly has a place in my bag now and i dont go anywhere with out 1 or 2. I tried loading one tho and wasnt impressed, but out of the package its nice. trevier 06-19-2010, 12:27 PM I had a plastic north bar in a blue mackeral pattern, did very well on it until I lost it this to fish, I will buy more of them, chefchris401 06-19-2010, 12:56 PM This is my new favorite commerical plug:) ive done incredibly well on it this season. theyre are cheap $15.99, come with vmcs and wolverines and flat out catch fish. the loaded ones are great for heavy current and rough surf, i retrieve it with a steady motion and quick jerks of the rod send it into a darting frenzy. plus they cast a better than the original. I have 3 in my bag right now and about 6 others in assorted colors. numbskull 06-19-2010, 12:59 PM I'm depressed. :hs: mrstriper 06-19-2010, 01:23 PM george...you can still throw wood... Zeno 06-19-2010, 02:01 PM George..you can always stain it...pine would look good over yellow:grins: hyefisherman2 06-19-2010, 02:06 PM im very impressed with my north bars!!! <3 mikecc 06-19-2010, 02:55 PM Northbar lures are a great value and They come out of the package ready to fish. You don't have to change out the hooks or split rings. Tagger 06-19-2010, 04:50 PM load to exactly 3 ounces with water . Kills the action but the fish still love it .. in the ditch anyways .. On the beach I'd leave it alone . WoodyCT 06-19-2010, 08:10 PM Wood is fun, but there is a ton of plastic that has so many positives. Makes a good plug great! Posted from my iPhone/Mobile device Tagger 06-20-2010, 10:54 AM hate to say it but not a fan of the wood ..(numby clinches fist).. weighed the wood at M&D's ,, suppose to weigh 2.5 same as the plastic but they are lighter .. don't cast or fish as well imho. Plastic ,,, don't be a hater . blame Don Musso and Bob Pond if you don't like it . :fury: ProfessorM 06-20-2010, 10:58 AM I luv everything. Vogt 06-20-2010, 11:00 AM I love fishing wood as much as the next guy, but Woody has a great point. Plastic flat out hammers fish. My career personal best fish came this year on a yozuri Mag Darter. If you had asked me this winter if I thought I would beach a 40 pound fish on that plug, I would have laughed. Woody, I'll trade you that lucky mag darter for a few pichneys. Seeing how you love plastic so much.... mrstriper 06-20-2010, 11:11 AM Paul...you need sleep...you love everything!!!!- your killing me...
