Honda is what I would buy if I needed one.

We are looking at used Subaru Foresters. Not quite 30mpg & 4cyl. Time to trade down the wife's 8 cyl. Dodge Durango.

for 6 cyl. Toyota Camry or Honda Accord. dunno about fitting a surf rod inside though....thats why I am thinking the Subarus...

Don't take mine! I saw it first! lol

remember that you need to be able fit a 10 foot 1 piece inside.

Of your three choices, Honda hands down.

You have twins.... Their stuff just gets bigger, as do they. Get another medium SUV. Your wife still has the Buick wagon?

I'd go with the Accord if it has to be a car. I'd also look into a small or medium SUV. Mileage may not be the same, but it will still be decent. As for room for fishing stuff, make sure the back seats fold down, too. I have a Ford Fusion (company car and I wouldn't recommend it). I can fit a 9' one piece rod through my trunk and into the front seat without it affecting me driving. A 10' rod doesn't fit though.

we have a gm envoy. i hope it's not a buick wagon :grins:. just fine for trips. i just need something to get to work in and fit fishing stuff inside. the gas mileage is important for me now, my pickup is doing 16-18 max right now. 2 fill ups a week if i go anywhere at night.

2010 malibu was really getting hyped, but just found out they don't make V6, only 4.

You can never go wrong with an Accord.

I've been looking at the Malibu and I'm pretty sure they can be ordered with a 6, maybe not a V6, but a 6.

You're not going to get 30 MPG from the Accord, Altima, Camry, Malibu or Maxima V6.

That said, if the Maxima is in your price range, that would be my choice. If you have to spend a bit less than the Accord or Altima would get my vote.

They really are nice vehicles, my family has driven through several since the late 80's. Always dependable and just enough creature comforts to make you feel better than the average Joe. The milage will not be 30 but not bad either. I just dropped for a new pilot and the accords looked nice and have some sweet deals especially if you are into leasing.
