It makes me sick to my stomache to put up this post but here goes. My wife and I are looking to find a new home for our female 10 month old boxer. We both love her but having two dogs in our small house is a bit much. Fine now but we plan on having children in the fairly near future and can tell that two dogs and a baby will be too much.

Dakota's Stats:
46lbs
Potty Trained
Up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heart guard
Very Friendly
Crate Trained though in need of a new one as she has just about grown out of her current one.
Used to other dogs and young children. We have a neighbor devil child that has been known to throw rocks and just about anything at her and she's never had a negative response. She loves kids though she could lick one to death.

I'm putting this up here because I'm hoping to find a home for her with someone I know or possibly someone that one of my friends here knows and can vouch for. I'm not looking for money but rather a good home where she will be happy.

Pics are about a month or two old so get some new ones up here.

Please send pm's.

Thanks guys.

Ronnie, you were the first one I thought of.... Glad to see you respond and hope you and the family feel ready to at least take a look.
Luds, I know this must be tough for you and LaTasha. Hope it works out with Ronnie. If not, hold out for another good home where you know she'll be loved.

Take her Ronnie. A dog that needs a great home and a family that needs a great new family member.

Ronnie it is an Omen. Hopefully the dog is smarter than you and likes the Pats.
Take the dog.

As long as you don't take her as a replacement for your loss, as some people do. See her her as a new addition to the family and the transition will flow smoothly.

Take some time to think about it. I have not posted this anywhere else. I'll give you a call tonight but definitely wait for you to decide before I entertain any other offers.

I had a boxer growing up, they are some of the friendliest, and most loyal dogs there are. Very affectionate too, I wish i could talk my wife into this one, as my 5 yo would love her.

Ronnie I hope you take her..

My wife & I met with Mike (Luds) & Dakota this afternoon.
We are going to welcome Dakota to our family later this coming week.
I want to thank everyone for the kind words over the past few weeks from me loosing my 8 year old boxer (Raider)
This has been a very tough thing to go through for my myself, wife & kids and I am sure this is not an easy thing for Mike & his wife to do, but we will give Dakota a good home.
Thanks
Ronnie

Great to hear. I'm not one for mushiness but... the vacuum in your hearts will be tough to fill but the joy Dakota will bring will certainly help. I'm sure you'll give her a great home. Congrats on the new family member.

Sorry I did not respond to a couple of pm's that were sent over the last few days. In between internet providers at home and have not been on line. Thanks to everyone for their kind words and interest in helping me find a new home for Dakota. I've honestly been a mess since I talked to Ronnie late last week because it hit home that we were really doing this. Although I do think it's the right decision for us it doesn't change the fact that you feel like you'r giving away someone in your family, someone that you love, and someone that you have put alot of effort into caring for. The only thing about this experience that has been good has been meeting Ronnie and his wife and seeing that she is going to a an amazing home. I've kind of lost track of all the people that have said "Ronnie will take good care of her". I can't express enough how thankfull and really fortunate I feel that they are able to take her.

Maybe Ronnie will allow some visitation once in awhile....just to see her.

It should have been documented. It could have been like Marley and me. My wife wants a grey hound but I've been resisting. We already have a cat which was a big change for me.

Is Dakota's name still going to be Dakota? Whats the protocal for the name?

Glad it worked out!
