I am vacationing in Eastham, close to Rock Harbor. This morning I launched my 18 CC out of there and took my son to Billingsgate. I now remember why I hate that place. I have never caught much there except on wire/jigs which I can't stand. Took a couple of small keepers on wire, but it is boring.

Anyone have any suggestions for fishing this area of the Cape? I know PTown very well, but its too far to take my 9 yr old in my boat. This whole area seems to be heavy tackle (wire) and deep...

Not really kid friendly or very fun for that matter... lots of fish being taken by the charter guys on jigs...

It's been years since I've been down there, but remember a lot of light tackle guys bouncing sluggos and doing well, they were just outside the line of guys fishing wire.

Get a dozen eels and a few 3 way rigs. Go to that same spot and drop the eels down. Keep contact with the bottom. Drift and enjoy the sights.
