Curious what size people order as compared to normal street shoe sizes. I just received my stocking foot waders and the size 10 RedHead (Bass Pro Shops) lace up boots and it actually looks (unless people tell me theys stretch some) like I'm going to have to order 2 sizes above my normal street shoe. With a sweat and wool sock, plus the waders, I can just barely wiggle my toes. If they stretches some I'd probably be ok, but I don't want to end up with an uncomfortable boot, so I'm curious what people are ordering and if these puppies will stretch.

Bob I got mine just one size bigger and wear a reg cotton sock,dont think you need the wool sox,the NEO sock helps for warmth.But if you feel more comfort with the wool socks then you might need 2 sizes up.They will stretch but I think like only a half a size.5 or 6 yrs down the road?Time for a new pair of choes:p

I wear a 10-1/2 street shoe and a size 12 wading boot. I use a silk liner and a polypro/wool blend sock. I go to a 300 weight fleece sock in extreme cold. I also wear neoprene wading socks over the waders. This set-up is perfect for me, just snug enough for good footing and comfort without being so tight as to impede circulation.

I went one size bigger on my ORVIS stocking foot waders and one size bigger on my boots as well.

I guess there are pros and cons to any brand. Personally, I like the service I get at the local ORVIS store and the warrantee is great. So, they are ok by me.

It all depends on how thick the neoprene boot foot is. Plus all boot sizes vary a little from manufacturer to manufacturer. When I ordered my wading boots from Cabelas I asked to speak to a specialist and he asked me what I had for waders then he recommended the boot size I needed. When I received them they fit perfectly. I'm sure other mail order catalogs have specialists you can speak to as well.

So I'm lookin' for breathables and I check out the Orvis Site. Price is decent so I call the 888 number to ask about the warranty and the customer service rep tells me they have a lifetime warranty. Not so bad I am thinking, 90 no warranty 150 lifetime warranty......

Am I missing the boat on the warranty thing, some have mentioned some sort of limited warranty on leaky Orvis waders? I'd rather spend 150 once than "save" $60 three or four times :smash:
