Deval Patrick's trip to the middle east.
Was it:
#1) a trip to see how our boys are doing
or
#2) just political grand-standing to try and bolster his low poll numbers?

I vote for #2
I expected to come out with some "Hilliary-sniper story" about how he was under assault by enemy forces. (Oh, wait, can we still call them that, or is there some "friendlier" PC term for an assasin?)

November can't get here soon enough!

I meant to post about this a few days ago. I think it's a load of crap. Just Cadillac Deval being himself. Governors have no business going to Afghanistan, especially when their home state is a complete mess.

I think #2 is partly the reason, but on the flip side, knowing they're not forgotten, I'll bet it was a welcomed surprise to our forces over there (especially the Massachusetts troops).

I'd be willing that the thrill of seeing him there would wear off rather quickly when the Mass troops remember how much he has done for (or more importantly TO) their families back home!
