Shaw's had a discount gas program, so that for every $50 you spent you could save $0.05 per gallon. Any discounts you earned were good for 14 days from date of your Shaw's purchase.
It was a good program, but someone decided that it needed changing.
The NEW program starts the first discount now at $100.00
You can combine various purchases to get a higher savings per gallon.
($100, $150, $200, $250...) The discounts are valid for 30 days, which allows you to accumulate higher discount amounts.
My problem: I had been shopping at Shaw's over the past month.
I spent well over $300 DURING the month of July, and when I went to buy gas (at one of their participating gas stations) I was told that there were no discounts on my Shaw's card.
We're talking $0.20 - $0.30 per gallon saving I "should" have received but didn't.
I have sent an email to Shaw's complaining about this, but I wanted to warn/inform others that may have experienced or might experience this same issue.
If I do not receive a satisfactory response I will pull out all the stops and read them the riot act about false advertising, media outlets that would love to hear about it, and the possible ramifications of an informed public!
