A couple of days ago my wife and I went to see her favorite uncle because he is at deaths door. Three months ago he weighed 200 #'s but he is down to 107 #'s the morning we saw uncle Gordan. Beverly went up to him and touched his arm gently and said uncle Gordan its Beverly. He kind of moaned and opened his eyes a little. I walked over a few moments later and took Gordans hand and said hello. I didn't say who it was, but Gordan new. He opens his eyes and speaks as best he could and says, Frank, you caught a big one. (Meaning the 42 #er I caught in July) How is that for priorities though, his niece, my wife, gets a groan and moan, and uncle Gordan looks up at me and says you got te big one. Thats cool.

Gordan is due to pass sometime tonight the hospice nurse said, so I am glad I brought some happiness to Gordan in the his last days.

That is a cool story Frank. I hope Uncle Gordan passes peacefully over to the other side.

Speaks powerfully of the connection we all have through fishing.

Yep, I wish the best for him, I'll bet he has some untold stories that are pretty good...

Reminds me of my late grandfather. His last few months of life were pretty brutal and he was absolutely miserable. He wasn't much for talking because of the pain. However every time I would visit or call him he would say.. (1st thing too).. How's the fishin been? It would always make me smile. Words can't describe how I miss him. Thanks for sharing this story and bringing back some sad but great memories. When he does pass, I hope he Rests in peace.
