What kind of effect does everyone think this storm will have on inshore tuna fishing in the CCB and SWC of Stellwagen. Personally, I think/hope that the whole CCB is going to explode. With all of the bait that has been around and NE winds for 3 days, my mind is boggled with the amount of bait that could be trapped in the bay. I know that I am planning to be out of Scituate in the AM and probably am heading south.

40 people have viewed this and no one has any thought?? I'd love to hear what people think. I was wondering/hoping for the same result from this storm.

The water temp has dropped sharply in the last few days, even 50' down. This could be what they are waiting for.

Find the bait you'll find the tuna. If the bait was pushed deep into the bay then the tuna will be there. Typically though any easterly component shuts down the tuna feed and with the moon phase right now that won't help either.I'd say once the moon pukes it will pick up. Cooler temps will be a bonus too. September and October are the big number big fish months anyways.

Well hopefully I'll actually catch one of these fish this year.

I agree, don't see much change till this happens along with the cooler water temps.

Sucks to hear that Jay. I'm sure that you'll send one or two to Tsukiji this year.

We broke a good fish off friday too. All of 85", he was stuck when the dart pulled, got him to leader again and he broke off. Have caught 2 fish under 58" in the last trips though, one today and one friday.

Seems like there are fish of all sizes out there. Heard guys on the radio with fish everywhere from 46"-75". We brought one home on Saturday at 55". I've been eating sushi for every meal since dinner on Saturday.

Took Freebie today along with my sidekick Bill. Got some bait 1st thing and hit the bank. Cpl hrs later, we got a small shark at our ballon. Bill hooks hit up and gets him boat side in mins.

Wasn't too long later a tuna explodes on a ballon. Ryan grabs the rod, sets the hook and settles in for a nice fight. Fish took a cpl good runs so we knew not to bother getting the poon ready.
20 mins later Ryan gets him up boatside and make a nice release.

That would be it for the action other than seeing pods greyhounding bait. Great day with a great crew.
