hmmm... no one touching this one? I'll bite

My thoughts are that yes you should be able to have your mosque (or whatever place of worship) because we are a free country and thats what being American is all about, right? But in a case like this is shows no class or respect for fellow mankind and thats why I think its wrong.

My motto is "live and let live".....but this is a place where people died ......

I don't believe in or practice any religion however since this country was built on religious freedom: anyone is welcome to practice and build their monuments to god (or is that God or gods/Gods?) wherever they want in order to practice such religion HOWEVER in this case move the damn thing a few blocks away to respect the significance of the historic event that happened 09/11/2001 as I doubt it will have an impact on whether the members of the mosque end up in a place which they search and deserve.

Ashes to ashes and dust to dust PERIOD! There ain't no more.

I just can't believe that people are so narrow minded that they would ostracize a whole religion because of a small percentage of terrorists

According to Pat Condell it wasn't a few terrorists but in fact Islam that attacked us on 9/11.

I'd wager there are several on this board who would agree with everything he says in this rant, but don't have the balls to do so...

Lets see. Fair is fair so when will we be aloud to build a church or synagogue in Saudi Arabia???? Nope can,t do it.
How about a Buddhist temple??? Nope can,t do it.
How about any other religious group that i can,t think of at the moment.??? Nope can,t do it.

For those that don,t think the above is relevant why don,t we just ask the nicer Muslims to catch the bad Muslims both in our country and the rest of the world.
Sure would make me feel a lot better knowing Muslims disproved the actions of a few enough to capture there own religious kind.
Iwould like to live in peace, wouldn't you???

The jihadists have always believed it was a holy war. Characterizing them as mere criminals is a gross underestimation. Criminals are predictable. They have worldly schemes for gain. They don't burn themselves and everyone around them to reap rewards in the afterlife.

but we're not them! We dont live in a religious led country, We have laws and rights they do not. And if you read up, many Muslims disprove the actions of 9/11, including the imam building the mosque!!!
That said - we worry so much about winning the hearts and minds of muslims, moving the mosque would go a long way in winning the hearts and minds of Americans. I dont see them budging which is a lost opportunity.

Screw the Americans. Let's make everyone else happy and comfortable.

My opinion is that they should be able to build their mosque. Then, someone should put a Hooters directly across the street from it. Even better, have outdoor seating at the Hooters so everyone coming and going can see the waitresses during the warmer months. What the hell, it's a free country.
