what is the "real" range on the Lami? Could it be used for throwing 6oz +bait?

It says it will toss up to 8 oz from what i have seen on line and what people have told me it is a good rod for the money.

about 2 years old used one year on boat sold boat last summer and kept motor the model # is RT/SC/S it is a transom mount.
