Ive been kicking around the idea of picking one up for canal fishing, drifting eels and jiggin. Does anyone have any experience with them. My abu's have treated me well but these things intrigue me. How do they cast compared to an Abu 7k, i assume the cranking power is good. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I don't have the levelwind, but the gearing and the strength and smoothness of the drag will blow away any Abu. The 20H is the nicest reel I have used.

I have a 30 levelwind .It casts fine.Levelwinds have no brakes.I installed a mag in mine.Didn't really need the mag but it helped when I layed into it.I recently grabbed one of these bad boys.

Are they still made in Korea, or did Daiwa move production to China?

Had a 20 level wind..... The eccentric spring on the release broke in less than a year... But when i ordered the new one they couldnt get it..... Now for the really cool part... The warranty center store aka j and b tackle gave me a brandy new outta the box reel cause they couldnt get the spring... I ended up with the 30 level wind.... My opinion of this reel is very high. Not only was i using it as a casting reel from shore. This year i fished the mass commercial bass season in ma... Every day i beat this reel lmao and it took it... Get one you wont regret it... Very very smooth and tons of drag compared to my abus.... Def a good buy

is the black and gold version the update of the black and blue 2 speed which was a boat reel?
I assume the silver version is the one mentioned with levewind?
It's my next purchase either the 20 or 30.
