View Full Version : This One's For You S.H.
Jimbo 03-18-2003, 04:12 PM The other day I came home from work and asked my 7 year old what she did in school. She told me that she had some training. I asked what kind of training they did in school, she said, "Daddy, don't you know anything? It was HI Training." I said, "I don't know what HI Training is." She said, "Daddaaaaaaay, it stands for Hostile Intruder. In case bad men get in our school the principal says a secret over the speaker and we close the blinds, turn out the lights, lock the door and hide in a corner where no one can see us looking in the little window in our door." I felt so bad this was how my kid has to enjoy life right now. My 13 year old told me about her HI training, too. Even scarier for her. It was then my mind was completely made up about what the right thing to do was. I'm glad Bush only gave Saddam 48 hours. I hope in his remaining time on earth he accesses this URL and enjoys this little animation. Soon after that, maybe my kids can go back to some form of normal school day.

Homerun04 03-18-2003, 06:54 PM Great one.....and I couldn't agree more with you. Any one who is against this action at this time doesn't understand the international scene and what has been going on for the past 20 years. No one wants war, but in certain cases preemptive action is a must to preserve our liberty and lives. Unfortuantely, the weapons of today are so powerful that it doesn;t take a huge army to wipe out millions of people. So we need to keep these weapons in check globally -- even if that means the US needs to begin "setting global policy" for other countries, whether they like it or not.
As for me, I'll never forget 9/11 or the people/countries who thought 9/11 was a "great day".........the folks in the US who are against this war are simply blind to reality.....don't they see and hear these other countries actually saying they want to kill all American's......??? Do these anti-war folks in the US actually belive it would be better to allow another country kill us all then for us to fight for our lives???
I don't understand them folks......as for me, color me RED, WHITE and BLUE.

Jimbo,
I am truely hesitant to bring involve children in the discussion, but you brought up the topic.
Pretty interesting that you blame Saddam Hussein for scaring your children. When did he start scaring them?
The truth is that it is our government who is scaring them.
There have been hostile nations across the globe forever. Why are our children being drilled in HI training now. Is Iraq going to invade?
This is just another scare tactic.
Why scare tactics?
Because a scared public is a submissive public.
Homerun04 03-24-2003, 06:37 PM Jim -
Please be advised that this idiot has been raising anti-American crap all across the S-B board today. He has been placed in an IGNORE status by almost everyone here. So while it is a personal decision on your part, I would recommend not answering his nonsence and placing him in an IGNORE status like the rest of us have done.
Jimbo 03-25-2003, 09:47 AM Against better advice I'm going to reply once more, however not to FCA and his ilk. I pretty much decided on the ride home last night, since he has butted in, it just wasn't worth the effort and stress to continue. This and related threads are not the real reason I joined this site, though I do enjoy healthy "intelligent" discussion on current topics with rational people. I just want to be a [better] goddamned striped bass fishing PATRIOT like 99.999999% of the rest of you here. That being said, I would feel remiss if I didn't include a modified Bill Murray quote (Stripes) before I ended this reply:
HR04! YOU are a MAD MAN! When you and FWW and the others came down on FCA ... and you basically told FCA what he could go do with a cow. I want to fish with you cowboy! The two of us together, forget it!
schoolie monster 03-25-2003, 01:39 PM FCAlive, I think you've used up your 9 lives.
This last post in this thread shows that you are truly a jackass.
Yes, President Bush sent letters to all schools to hold such training in order to scare 7 year old kids into supporting the war... this of course, was directly after his meetings were he counted the money he was making on Haliburton stock and right before his meeting were he planned on what to do with all the oil we will have after we colonize Iraq... this of course, will be easy after we kill all the innoncent civilians in the country.
These trainings are not a result of our fear that Saddam might attack the US, but more likely the very real fear that some sexual predator might enter a school to attempt to kidnap a child (do you pay attention to other news or just conspiracy theories regarding the war) or the possibility that terrorists might enter a school with a bomb attached to his chest. Or do you think that the US gov't made up all the stories of terrorists blowing up innocent women and children? The fact that you would imply that this is another gov't conspiracy is beyond comprehension.
I've tried to engage you with reasonable debate, but you are either an internet troll just trying to rile people up, or you are suffering from massive paranoia, or the simplest explanation, you are just plain foolish.
As I've stated before, intelligent debate is healthy. You are just trying the debate part and have forgotten the intelligent part. You have also proven that you are willing to use anything as part of your dilusional arguments, including serious topics such as American KIA's that died to protect both of us, and children's training on how to protect themselves against strangers. As a parent of three, I resent the fact that you would try and use them.
Show some class and respect.
Homerun04 03-25-2003, 04:06 PM Thank you my fellow Patriots. If Mr. FCAlive is still lurking out there, be advised I feel vindicated in my love for our GREAT country by the sheer number of decent, law abiding, God fearing Patriots that have risen on this board in defense of our country and my position in response to your dribble.
I thank God every day that I was blessed to be born in this country, and that my children are citizens of the USA. I doubt Mr. FCAlive has children yet, and therefore may not truely understand the wonderful peace of mind it is knowing that our country values human life, dignity and freedom for all -- especially when you are a parent.
I take humbrage towards anyone or anything that purposefully attacks -- in deeds or words -- this great bastion of global feeedom and liberty we call the United States. And I will NEVER, EVER aquiese to any other opinion other then that. I would rather die in dignity with my head held high in protecting the values and concepts of liberty and freedom for all mankind, then live one second in a country that degrades human life and sqeulchs individual liberties and freedoms.
Semper Fi -- and God Bless America!

FCAlive 03-29-2003, 11:49 AM BAGHDAD, IRAQ
—
Baghdad resident Taha Sabri, killed Monday in a U.S. air strike on his city, would have loved the eventual liberation of Iraq and establishment of democracy, had he lived to see it, his grieving widow said.
"Taha was a wonderful man, a man of peace," his wife Sawssan said. "I just know he would have been happy to see free elections here in Iraq, had that satellite-guided Tomahawk cruise missile not strayed off course and hit our home."
A shoemaker and father of five, Sabri, 44, was listening to the radio at 3 a.m. when a missile launched from a U.S. warship in the Persian Gulf veered off course and struck just feet from his house. Sawssan was away at the time, tending to an ailing aunt in the Baghdad suburb of Mansour.
"My husband was no fan of Saddam," Sawssan said. "He felt he was a terrible despot. If the Americans do drive him from power, it will be that much more of a shame that they killed Taha."
Homerun04 03-29-2003, 12:00 PM The citizenry of any country have the OBLIGATION to remove dispicable despots and tyrannts from office prior to things like this happening.....the people of Iraq have let this situation go on for way too long IMO. I hate to see good people die, but it goes to show you what can happen when the citizenry do not take matters into their own hands long ago. Remember, a victim is only a victim if they choose to be so.
Please remember, the Patriots who founded OUR country were also breaking the laws of England when they did so, and also put their lives in danger by acting according to their principals. If you are a lover of history, as I am, you would have learned that Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Madison, Monroe, Hamilton, Morris, etc. were all looking over their shoulders when they were "revolting" against an oppreseive government knowing full well that if they were caught, they would have been hunged as traitors against the King.
So, I am truly sorry to hear of the loss of an innocent life, but was the life really that innocent if it allowed this situation to go on for so long without doing anything about it? Anactodal stories are not enough to say this war is not just nor something that shouldn't be done.
