Any opinion on these waders?
They seem like nice lightweight breathables, and I found a good price for them. Im not sure if the Orvis sale is going this year, and I dont want to spend 2 bills on them retail.

I use Hodgemens Neoprenes and they've never let me down and I've never been cold in them. The boots are the best quality they have a good warranty.

Krispy - they kick ass! I have some that I used almost exclusively last year and they haven't even broken on me and I'm tough on waders. I didn't use my neos or canvas at all last year. Even in the fall, they were great with just sweat pants underneath... Very, very comfortable...

Get the stocking foots and a set of wading boots. Unbelievably comfortable.

Wadelite waders are good. I’m not sure of the warranty. The warranty on breathables is a huge concern because they all will leak or tear eventually (unless you are a “beach only” angler).
Orvis used to have a warranty on their breathable waders that descended 20% each year after year one - but they changed that last year, and now they are guaranteed for life. I use the Orvis Silver Label boot foot with studded felts and I have no complaints – the lifetime warranty makes the purchase less painful over time. I have returned mine, and they replace them no questions asked with no shipping costs on the replacements. At the end of each season, Orvis discounts their waders on their website but that does not do you any good now.

Where is this? PM me please.

I just shelled out the 2 bills for the Orvis Clearwaters:smash: :smash: :smash: :(

Maybe I should get some of the Hodgemans in stockingfoot so I can get wading boots separate for places like Cuttyhunk where the bootfoots ain't gonna cut it.

I bought a pair last Memorial Day. I loved em until Labor Day. They started weeping after 45 minutes of being in the water. By early October the leak was unbearable.

I couldn't find the leak until I put a flashlight inside the leg. The surface of the waders looked like they were studded with diamonds where the little pinpoints of light were shining through.

I called Hodgeman. No questions, just return them. A new pair was sent to my house.

Hodgeman told me that their supplier forgot to put an anti-fungal agent in the lining. As a result, a fungus ate through the lining and created the microporosity.

Make sure that your waders are of a recent production lot.

The new ones worked fine when I hung them up for the sason last Thanksgiving.

can the orvis waders or any breathable waders for that matter be worn in the surf. if so, does the saltwater affect its permeablility? :D
