To this day one of my favorites is Zappa in New York. Terry's voice cracks me up every time. Also he is a beast in the video "Baby Snakes" Shame he didn't really go with any decent bands after that...talented man. O.D. Zappa drummers are a differant breed ... They had to play what ever little specs he wrote on the paper... If you grow tired of 4/4 time and three chord progression .. give a listen .. Tagger 09-29-2010, 06:42 PM Bebop Tango and Approximate are also wicked songs Trombone solo in Bebop Tango is sick ,,. not alot of people into that kind of stuff .. not to commercial for sure ... I love it ... listen to it 100 times ,, always hear it a differant way .. "This is the beat ,,, That's the pedestrian beat !!! Mike 09-29-2010, 08:51 PM Actually, Neil is one of the guys who started the "Big Set" thing ! It's like I'm at the concert everytime I watch Rush on youtube... Strange that I don't have any songs by rush on my Iphone?:smash: Slammer223 09-29-2010, 10:01 PM Paul, how is this for a show?Worcester Centrum, first act Jeff Beck,Bozzio, and Hymas, second act is SRV.Yes,it was special. How is the delivery business? , , wow great show. special for sure. got this on my ipod give it a listen it is fantastic. not trying to show up Jeff just a real good copy and I luv Larry, not that larry YouTube - Larry Carlton & Steve Lukather - Cause We've Ended as Lovers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PmckSlLevQ) Slammer223 10-02-2010, 07:20 PM I feel very fortunate to have seen many great drummers in concert.Keith Moon,Billy Cobham,Corky Laing,Bill Ward,Johnny Barbata,Terry Bozzio,Matt Abts,Bill and Mickey,Butch and Jaimoe, etc.Gotta love the skins. spence 10-02-2010, 07:41 PM Buddy was just a natural talent, the confidence to do what he did is not common. The depth of the fills on that snare is really crazy. I'm a huge Peart fan. His stamina is awesome, and while he's one of the best rock drummers ever I love that he longs to be a jazz guy at heart. Anybody who played with Zappa must be nuts, it's almost like being hard just for the hell of it. All the time stop stuff and changes isn't the same as the swing at all... All things considered, it takes a heck of a lot of talent to do any of it. -spence Raider Ronnie 10-02-2010, 09:00 PM Whats happening? Tagger 10-06-2010, 03:48 PM Carter Beauford for my money is the most tasteful drummer .. all the little things he does .. If I could pic a drummer I'd play like this .. "Play" key word .. doesn't even look like he's working .. YouTube - Carter Beauford - Say Goodbye (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfiPYNd0BzY&feature=fvst) ProfessorM 10-06-2010, 06:44 PM very nice Eddie. I can't stand that guys voice though Zeal 10-06-2010, 07:47 PM Neil Peart's solo from the "Rush in Rio" tour on Youtube is by far my favorite of all drum playing and kit work (well he had a damn platform really). vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2025, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
