I’m going to be up there Nov 26th thru the 29th pm if you want to hook up I fish with some life long buddies that are full time guides up there. We will be in the drift boat and most likely will be having some beverages back at camp. It would be cool to meet up with some other sb guys as I am in the minority as a striper fisherman amongst salmon guys and usually am privy to much ball busting; they think our sport is easy

Dave, Rick is not a guide on the river just has a personal drift boat they use. How long are you staying up? Going to tinker tavern again?

Dave,

I'll be up there at some point this November, hopefully for a 3 or 4 day stint either the weekend of the 13-14 or 20-21.

The second I hooked my first chromer last December, I was addicted. It's about as different from striper fishing as you can get (at least the float fishing and bottom scratching), but awesome in its own way.

Fished it for the first time last week. I was kind of in between runs as far as timing goes and really had no idea what I was doing. I tried hooking up with a guide but it didn't work out so bought myself a "noodle rod" and had at it. I fished three mornings and had two fish on - lost them both. First was a most likely a salmon by the way it felt and by seeing what others around me were getting, second was a steelhead. 4th jump I lost it. WOW. I can se why this fishing is additive but also would say that I am glad I fished weekdays as it gets a little crazy. I really had no clue, just classic trout stream fishing with fake eggs.
Have fun guys, I certainly left some fish for you.

BTW bring your own lead. They cant sell it in NY and the non lead stuff is not nearly as effective to bottom bounce with.
