I have 20# PP right now on my 4000 backed with 12 Big Game mono and I have used 30# Spiderwire before and like it....

I'm not sure how much hard structure you had to fish before in FL but you need to go up some in line strength for a lot of the rocky areas we have to fish :D ...

I have a couple 4000's for boat and light-surf use. If I was buying one especially for the surf, I wouldn't get anything below the 4000 'cause of line capacity.

I use 30# magibraid w/ 10lb. big game as backing... I think that's too light 'cause I got to the backing once and the connection snapped quick. Not sure if it was the knot itself or the braid cut through the mono. It was a double uni-knot.

I ordered some 20# magibraid for flats fishing just to be a bit more stealthy. I'll see how that goes.

I use the reels on 7- 7.5 foot graphite rods for schoolies to smaller keeper size fish from the boat and surf. I throw alot of jerkbaits and other plastics. I also use them for lighter plugs like floating poppers or lipless crankbaits, and for throwing small spoons for albies.

I like the reel for the instant anti-reverse, smooth operation and because it is so light. It also has a great drag. With a good graphite rod, you can cast all day without wearing down.

They are great for light-tackle fishing.

Yall are blabbin bought using the 4000 for light stuff well you'd be surprised to see what she'll handle. If I can bring in several Keepers on a 1000 I think the 4000 can do some damage

I cant wait to try the new Stradics they look sweet:D
