Anyone here pouring your own plastics??

I just got into it after reading a how-to on the other site and i have to say this is going to be good. So far I've only made my own 9inch slug-go's but it is a good way to combat the $13 a pack price.

If anyone here canb weigh in.. how do you color them. I dont intend on buying a bunch of the dye that they sell specifically for this( Trying to save money here and not waste $8 a bottle to experiment on a funky color that i dont know if it will catch or not) Will food color work for me?

Also, I have to say.. I joined this site because this forum sparked a huge interest in lure building for me. Now that I am a few years older I am looking to really get into building. I appreciate all the threads where people take the time to explain how and why when they build their lures. the information you guys provide make it so the newbies like myself have some great guidance towards meeting their goals. This hobby is going to be great through the winter.

Thanks all

Ben

M&D's sell all the stuff you need. Even small bottles of coloring. Food coloring does not work it starts to pop with the plastic because it is water based. Don't ask me how I know :wall:
