If you were a kid in the 80's TRON was it. Especially the video game.

Wow, I'm amazed that this many guys liked that movie....I thought it was crap myself. It was Disney trying to capitalize on the SciFi craze...that and the Black Hole...which I thought was crap too, were there attemts at it.

And why does Hollywood feel the need to keep remaking all my childhood favorites....they were fine just the way they were. I loved Logan's run when I was younger....leave it alone

Black hole was money!!!!!! Those split double barrel laser guns were the best weapons in psyfi movie history!!!!!!!

Dad, Im with you 100%! I think its an age gap thing, these guys are a few years younger than us. Tron and Black Hole were aboslute crap. I couldnt believe they were remaking it.

All people seem interested in are CGI effects, and now 3D.......I like a story to my Sci Fi.

Ever watch the old Outer Limits series.....worst effects in the world, but the Story lines were amazing....way ahead of its time.

I think of all the movies I grew up with that I loved.....then hollywood remade them :yak:....

The Time Machine
The Day the Earth Stood Still (one of the Best Sci-Fi films ever)
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Planet of the Apes
Psycho
Godzilla

Some may have had some redeeming qualities....but just not as good as the originals IMHO.....so why bother....give me something new......You can't recapture the magic of the original, there was just something about them that can't be improved on or re-created.

Loved time bandits though! Watched that recently with my kids.
Anyone remember Flash Gordon? I caught that last week on tv. Funny watching it now as an adult vs as a kid, lot of sex in it that went right over my head. Lot of hotties too. It still was a good movie even though the effects were awful compared to today's standards

Why remake Time Bandits.....it was such a great movie as it was originally filmed. What can they do to make it better?

Very heady movie. Soundtrack was intense. Didn't make any sense plot wise, but didn't expect it to. I wanted to see people in glow suits fighting to daft punk, and i got my fill :)

With today's SE technology this stories' potential could be totally realized in eye dazzling awesomeness.R rating would be appropriate.

The only question I really want to know is who play's Holly!!!

That is correct.Its a GREAT SEQUEL.

Not sure why some jumped on this as a remake of TRON.

Jaws 2 was a Sequel also...:yak:..and that was of a great movie

I can see the draw if your looking for a "video game" in 3-D, and just looking to goof on the effects....but just doesn't appeal to me after that 1st one.

Saw it tonight, it was cool, and that's about it. Soundtrack to it was a great fit. CGI was sweet.
