I am gonna add a few lobsters to our thanksgiving day dinner. My question is, I have to obviously aquire them before thanksgiving, so how should I keep them alive for the 24 -36 hrs before I cook them?

Can they live on ice? I know they drown in freshwater pretty quick.

I'll probably get them as close to closing as possible the day before, maybe around 4pm, and I plan on eating around 2 on thanksgiving. So maybe 22- 24 hrs tops.

They'll live on ice fine. Throw them in a cooler, just make sure the drain is open. If they get in the water they are all done.

The fridge is accptable space permitted. I prefer the cooler.

Fridge is fine, if possible single layer them.

When we get them at work we just put them in the walk in cooler no ice or anything.

They will live for about 3 days if properly stored.

Or put them in a big cooler with the drain open and leave it outside if it's cold enough, that's what we did last year for Xmas

Just wrap them in a wet towel and put them in the fridge. If you use a cooler with ice, put a towel between the bugs and the ice.

Able size cooler with rockweed( like along the canal) and blue packs or ice.........blue packs are better,,,,,,,they don't melt and leave fresh water ice in the cooler...........
