Have already signed up and registered ALL my phones numbers on the "Do not call list" but some groups are exempt either able to or just plane ignore the list. We have Caller ID and generally refuse to even answer calls from any Blocked, Caller Unknown, or 888/800 service number.

I've even started picking up the handset and hanging back up without talking. These callers are really now harassing, so how do you get them to stop...ideas?:gh:

Calls come multiple times per day and every day like clockwork...oops here is one now.:wall:

I get really vulgar with them. I ask them their favorite sex positions. They usually don't call back.

I get 8-10 a day....

I used that approach on an obscene caller when I was a teenager, and when they started their speele, I added some colorful improv "positions" and they hung up quickly.
Come on, when a girl crank calls, and a teenage boy answers to her telling about what she and his dad did yesterday, did you think the boy hung up or topped her with "Yeah, he told me all about you and how lousy you were!"

Either that our a really loud whistle (depending on the time of the call).

When all else fails insult their mother or threaten to have a pig roast on their front doorstep.
That works well too :hee:

Record the sound of a fax machine (carrier frequency) then play it back when you receive a call.

I'm going to try the following:

"I've just been declared totally incompetent (not far from the truth) and morally insane so if you want my $$$ you'll have to speak with my Financial Planner at 1-900-438-3825."

Since they like calling on the phone so much they shouldn't mind another call. Wonder how long it will take them to figure out "900" numbers are toll.

PS If any of you have spare time and either decide to assign some other meaning to these numbers or actually dial them, please do not post on this site as JR has asked for us to clean up our act. I have not dialed these numbers to try it, likely can't afford it.

tell them to hold on you have something on the stove, then put the phone down and don't pick it back up. As long as they are on hold, they can't make any calls and bug more people or make any money.

I try to hang up on them before they snap it down on me first

eat some black beans and record
the wonderful sounds of Flatulence.

Occasionally you have to change your Number
apparently your Number has been sold and re-sold so many times
your on every list there is....
also
there is computer software out there
that sends all incoming calls thru your PC
so you can specify certain responses or
Deny the call altogether

Had the same guy call at my part-time job two weeks ago. I hung up a few times, and this jerk keeps calling. I told him I was reCording the phone call and was going to notify the FBI since he was calling from Jersey. Soliciting for 411.com from MOMBAi< india>
