I only recently learned about the New Jersey Angler magazine. And no sooner after learning about it, I learned that it has made it's last cast, due to economic pressure. But, the thing that impressed me is that Bill Donovan from The New Jersey Angler reached out to Chris Meagan from On The Water and transferred his subscribers to On The Water, New York & New Jersey edition.

Is anyone here familiar with the articles and “spirit” of The New Jersey Angler? Do you think their “spirit” will live on in the On The Water, New York & New Jersey edition?

These are two fine publications run by two very savvy businessmen. IMHO both magazines are dedicated to satisfying their readers thirst for good content and timely information. It is sad to see another fine magazine bite the dust, but I'm confident that On The Water will raise the bar a little higher and they will work hard to bring Jersey anglers what they want. Best of luck to all affected.

OTW writes about most everything. NJ Angler only wrote about advertisers. The Fisherman does the same thing. I don't read magazines that do this because it's biased towards these products and they have their agendas.

While otw does the same thing here and there, what is there for articles and information I think is less of a bias, except for those authors who have to pimp their friends/buddies.

And I'll probably be flamed for saying this. I'm basing my opinion here on fact. I just don't like that game.
