capesams 03-30-2003, 10:03 PM show off;):claps: :kewl: :soon: :humpty:
TheSpecialist 03-30-2003, 11:32 PM Did you notice the name on the boat? That is my nickname at work. It might be a message to me from a higher power. :D
Mr. Sandman 03-31-2003, 05:31 AM Thats great John!!
(I fetch mine in 2 weeks as well)
:D
JohnR 03-31-2003, 08:58 AM Schweet!
Well, this will bring to 6 the number of Seacraft 23s on S-B! Perhaps the best represented boat on the boards - wonder if they'll call us snobs :bshake: - There are a few 20s too :btu:
Bill - its a helluva price... If you weren't trying to buy a house you might have snuck it in behind the rods/reels/plugs/lathes/sanders and all the other junk you've been buying
Mr. Sandman 03-31-2003, 10:26 AM If there is not a lot of binnding action on that boat I may swoop in at the last moment.
Wonder what my wife will say... Could result in a possible dog-house move.
JohnR 03-31-2003, 10:52 AM At 10K and no reserve - it won't last at that price...
But it will be a very wet boat. A lot of weight in the a$$ end with twin I/Os. Get a couple guys fighting fish in the back and you'll have very wet feet at best...
Sell both I/Os - engines and outdrives '97 & '02 will be easily worth close 10 grand when sold parted out. Roll that coin into a Armstrong or Hermco bracket, add new outboard of your choice and you're really cooking with gas!
Mr. Sandman 03-31-2003, 12:14 PM great minds think alike:)
JohnR 03-31-2003, 08:20 PM :kewl: great minds think alike .. and other times just dumb luck! :D
Christian 03-31-2003, 08:51 PM john,

The land of white cars & blue haired ladies! FlOrIdA! :D (But it's a California boat  )
Christian 03-31-2003, 09:16 PM How you getting it shipped? Is there an average price for shipping one of those fishing machines? My dad and i have been looking for a while now, but all of the (affordable) boats are down Florida.Want know if the shipping cost defeats the purpose of buying the boat down florida because its cheaper there. Once again, i wish i had a boat.
JohnR 04-01-2003, 07:56 AM Christian... If you find the right boat and can work out the right scenario for pick up you can really make it worth your while. I really won't comment more yet on the shipping until I have it up in New England but for now I think I have a pretty good hauler to get things done. When the time is right, I'll let you know how I did it.
As far as getting a boat from FL and bringing it north, that's a dual edge sword. The boat I bought is fairly common down there but like gold off Rhody & Mass. The difference in value between Fl & Mass will not happen with all boats so you do need to do some research first. Also remember that florida boats tend to have a lot more use than mass boats. Of Course, anything boating in Mass is automatically 25% more expensive than Florida too :rollem:
capesams 04-04-2003, 04:55 PM there's 3 seacrafts on e-bay now
ScottM 04-05-2003, 08:32 AM Hey John,
I hope I'm included in the 6 S-B members who are SC owners ;) .
How close are you to taking delivery?
Scott
capesams 04-05-2003, 09:15 AM SM...welcome to sb
JohnR 04-05-2003, 09:57 AM Scott - glad you finally stopped lurking :D
I got bumped back 2 more weeks - looking tough to make my planned mid June splash and the MSBA Tourney!
BEETLE 04-06-2003, 09:10 PM You could still kick some butt from shore John.
JohnR 04-07-2003, 09:21 AM Beetle - technically you're a half SC as your boat is a copy, right :D
Yeh - I'll be doing a little from shore this May & June - hopefully
Mr. Sandman 04-08-2003, 07:52 AM only at 11K now and one day to go, my trigger finger is getting itchy.
BEETLE 04-08-2003, 08:08 AM Yes, I am a Casco Bay Runner / Seacraft copy owner :D
There's a guy at the jobsite interested in buying for what i'm into her for - thinking of selling if the opportunity arises and preparing to make the switch to a real Seacraft. :kewl:
I like the Casco - rides real nice - but i want a little more room !
JohnR 04-08-2003, 08:38 AM At 11K - even 14K, that looks like a Freakin Steal in New England!
If I had the money....
Mr. Sandman 04-08-2003, 08:43 AM I think I'll take the wife to dinner this evening and "discuss" having a project boat. I'd have to keep it in the boat yard and not the back yard though...thats for sure.
JohnR 04-09-2003, 10:16 AM 18K now - no longer a bragain!
Mr. Sandman 04-09-2003, 10:20 AM I was bummin when it hit 15....wife wants a bigger boat anyway...just as well I have my hands full anyway.
