I work around the corner, so I am there on Friday. As good an excuse as any I have found to leave work mid day. Bob H.

It's the same stuff year after year. striperman36 12-27-2010, 07:05 PM $15 is a rip off for that show. It's the same stuff year after year. I agree with Scott, for once saltydog 12-28-2010, 08:58 AM For thoes who been tyin flys an ENTER every year the MARLBORO FLY SHOW is the only show to GREET & MEET the tiers you havent seen for a YEAR or longer, SWAP flies with outher tiers. I will be tyin from 10 -12 FRIDAY an then chatting w/ old friend that I havent seen in a while. not everyone has the money to TRAVEL to outher STATES to shows, an this is the only one left. as for BEARS DEN SHOW it's the same day as PLUG FEST, I can buy fly materials any time. BUT again PLUGFEST is the only one time to MEET & GREET,SWAP. GOOD LUCK GOOD TYIN P.S. SEE YOU THERE:uhuh: jredfly 12-28-2010, 11:49 AM when is it Bob this Friday? Not a lot of new stuff, as has been said, but a very accessible show in that with the lower attendance you can talk to anybody at will and at length. Lots of room and time to try stuff out. Looks like some of the presentations may have been given a bit of an update based on the descriptions. Better than being at work for the afternoon either way. I have not made it up to Bear's Den yet, so this may be the year for that. Especially if I can double up with Plugfest a bit. Leaving work on Friday has always been easier than finding time and a two hour drive on a Saturday, but I may push the matter this year. saltfly 12-31-2010, 02:57 PM Granted the show"ain't what she used to be".A few of us will be heading up from the outer cape and be there when the door opens on Friday. As far as the $15[the cost of a pizza] is concerned I've learned a few things from the tyers every year:uhuh:.Also have found some hard to find stuff and a couple of bargains.I'd prefer to go to Somerset but the drive is just too long for a day trip.Bears Den is like the Plugfest for fly guys/girls.Too bad both are on the same day.I'll be at the Den also. rphud 12-31-2010, 05:41 PM Looks like Plugfest doors are open at 8, and Den show runs 11-6. I am going to shoot for a two-fer. Could be along day, but I gots to try. Too close together and too far away not to try. Maybe dinner in the Taunton area after the show? Not that I know any spots up there. striperman36 12-31-2010, 06:13 PM Looks like Plugfest doors are open at 8, and Den show runs 11-6. I am going to shoot for a two-fer. For far food, the chateau is right up the road. ProfessorM 12-31-2010, 07:02 PM I'd like to try and make both, the Chateau, spelling ?? is a great place to eat Bob. Great food. I was bummed last year when i found out i missed the fly show, being I was at plugfest. I went year before and had a blast and I am not even a fly-fisherman but I know Scott and I luv to see the tiers work and I do tie tails for my plugs and those guys make me feel like a real hack.
